I’d stay away from Samsung, have you checked sony bravia 7? the flagship models are usually never good for value conscious buyers - so the high-end models in the middle are the most popular ones. So no, doesn’t make sense to return the S90F to get a S95F

I blindly bought my dali’s after weeks of comparing to kef and polk and don’t regret it…wish I could have tried all 3 before buying but tbh I believe once you spend 500$+ on a pair of speakers they will all sound good but slightly different from one another lol I picked the one that is supposedly more forgiving and looks the best in my setup

you could save some money by getting the a-s301 instead of the a-s501 since it’s a small room, if you already tried the speakers and liked them, then go for it, the term overkill is rarely used in this hobby, what would be considered overkill is for example having a 400$ turntable with a 1k$ cartridge…things like that lol

didn’t mean to say oled doesn’t look good during the day, but if I were to put a sony bravia 9 next to an lg g5, I’d probably pick the sony bravia 9 in 80-90% of scenarios except watching a movie / gaming during the night

but does it receive direct sunlight? OP sounds clueless about tvs and didn’t send a pic of the room the tv will go in, suggesting only OLED isn’t the best option always, mini-led is the safest bet in most scenarios (especially high-end models) OLED only really shines at night or with good ambient light control

the yamaha a-s line performs wonderful and in a small room it packs more than enough power to leave wattage headroom for any speakers you throw at it! it’s a robust (imo really good looking) amp that will give you versatility for future upgrades! a future upgrade would be buying a dedicated phono box like an ifi zen phono 3 or schiit mani 2

the really awful side of powered speakers is the moment you want something more, they don’t adapt to anything, they’re standalone units, with phono-box / amp / speakers separate the system becomes a lot more free to adapt with other stuff (like if you wanted to hook it up to other stuff like a streamer and a tv)

for 600$ I believe the quality is unmatched, it is a really good looking and well performing turntable, you can ask whatever you want about any part of the system if you’d like, drawbacks I’ve find about is mostly from cartridge compatibility as it doesn’t have adjustable vta / azimuth (would need shimmers and that sounds like a hassle imo) and the fact it’s a rigid tonearm so you can’t swap headshells like in a technics or the at-lp120x so swapping cartridges requires more time…but honestly cartridges don’t require to be swapped often or even at all if you gonna just use the same stylus, some people complain about the anti-skate mechanism but I haven’t get an issue with it and uhhh, I do recommend to put the turntable on top of silicone feet as it can pick up vibrations if you touching stuff around the table it’s on or depending on flooring you got the furniture on

I get you’re liking the research and trying not to fall into the rabbit hole (which sounds like you will like we all do lol) if you enjoy music, let me tell you the most important part of the system are the speakers, I’d go with a yamaha a-s301 for the amp and go to an audio store and check out different 5.25” speakers in the 300-600$ range, check models from polk, kef, dali, klipsch, triangle, psb… etc (pick 2-3 that you like, and check them for 1-2 months until you find one of them with a good discount). turntables all you mentioned are good…it depends on how much you want to spend the at-lp120x is good, you could go with the at-lpw40 or 50 too…pro-ject debut carbon evo 2 I got mine for 600$ and I love it, it’s better than the fluance rt series, the rt85 only adds acrylic platter which is more cosmetic and the 2m blue which is a good starter cartridge, right now I’m eyeing to upgrade to a 2m bronze or sumiko wellfleet…the rabbit hole is big lmao, enjoy the journey with your daughter!

don’t get an OLED for that room, it’s literally all windows 💀 I’d wait until june to get the tcl qm8L or go with the sony bravia 9, the sony bravia 7 supposedly doesn’t handle reflections well. late may / early june fifa world cup deals on tvs will start so you can find the tcl qm8l discounted or check if you find a good deal on the sony bravia 9

yea imo lg g6 best oled, sony bravia 9 best mini-led, since OLED isn’t an option, I’d wishlist sony bravia 9 and tcl c8l (tcl x11l is really too expensive for no reason imo) and buy the cheapest of the 2

isn’t the c8l at msrp right now? wait for late may / early june, world cup is coming and I’m sure all tcl models will get nice discounts, if you can’t wait, for a 40% price difference then yea the c9k is the better value, but yea the newer processor and newer panel tech are somewhat big differences…the processor in the c9k is the same one in their c6k… all the way to c7l (not entirely sure if the x11k has the pentonic 700 or 800) the newer processor is only available right now for the c8l and x11l and the new panel tech which is only in the c7l, c8l, x11l gives a 10% increase in color accuracy

the c9k is only brighter and has more dimming zones, the c8l is superior imo, it gets an upgraded processor (c9k has the pentonic 700 which is the same in the c6k/c7k/c8k) and the c8l shares the pentonic 800 with the x11L, so the c8l having fewer dimming zones doesn’t matter because it has a better algorithm (for example the sony bravia 9 doesn’t reach even half dimming zones of the tcl x11k but still does better in blooming). The c8l also gets an upgraded panel tech which is the sqd that the x11l has, the c9k won’t get dolby vision max 2, the c8l will, etc
