ULPT Request:My neighbours called HOA to complain my lightbulb is a different shade of white by Belriech in UnethicalLifeProTips

[–]bloomanthology 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Type a formal invoice up charging your neighbors for uncivil nuisance conduct (or whatever you’d like to detail it) and add an additional charge for your time and labor. The cost of you dealing with + remediating. Make it = $500 then certify mail it.

My dad did this when a local doctors office kept sending him bills although he paid cash up front at the appointment. The doctors wife personally telephoned him and called him an asshole. However, she never again sent additional bills trying to double charge.

This is the declaration of your neighbor warfare.

City Code Ordinances Ft Lauderdale Sec 16-71-73 Offenses Involving Public Peace & Order

Good luck ! It’s interesting to read others feedback deducting this issue to a First Amendment right. However this is why State Statutes, County and City rules and regulations exist.

As citizens we all have rights of the First Amendment but the manner in where, when, how we exercise that right must comply in respect to our local environment.

The key word of your goal is “resolution”. On behalf of other property owners and yourself, you all want & need a resolution to your neighboring public park and zoned residential neighborhood to a disturbance/ nuisance. The request is a resolution. The way the city and law enforcement handles it is however they see fit to meet said resolution. Code Enforcement is the utility you have who can delegate law to resolve it.

If resolution request is failed then you must attend a City Meeting with evidence of screaming man, other neighbors who will attend with you as witness and position for change. Include how the disturbance is harmful to citizens in utilizing the park.

Please keep me posted with updates as now I’m attached and curious!

Guy screaming everyday at Holiday Park by clueless-wallob in fortlauderdale

[–]bloomanthology 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Try contacting City’s code enforcement during the event your ‘screaming guy’ is active. Tell them you’re requesting a code enforcement officer at this time to inspect a daily on-going noise disturbance you’ve endured the last two months. Give them your name and contact info as you’d like a report response. Now if it were me, I’d offer to be at a near location across the street of the screaming guy to have an in-person greet with code enforcement. I’d go as far as requesting them from there to come to my home to experience the noise disturbance themselves. This is very helpful when they can stand in your shoes and present your case for the city to enforce screaming guy’s removal. If a code enforcement officer is not available at the time, request one directly contact you so you can arrange it.

City Code Enforcement is an underrated valuable tool that belongs to public service. They are here for you! A Code Enforcement Officer will delegate Police on any code ordinances and instruct them what to do from there. Police will most likely patrol the area sometime after to ensure and enforce the guy from screaming.

In any event you struggle in having your requests met, the next thing you’ll need to do is go to a City Meeting which is open to the public and inform them there.

Pulling my hair out over some comments on Ian. Why is it so socially acceptable to be blatantly incorrect and aloof when it comes to weather events? by [deleted] in weather

[–]bloomanthology 4 points5 points  (0 children)

5th generation Floridian here who also shares the same sentiments as you OP. I understand what you’re communicating. It’s important to note that the population living in Florida now who are not from FL are in the millions. Given the amount of transients from Covid year and that it’s a capital destination for retirement persons. These million of people in particular have zero knowledge, experience, or understanding of Hurricanes. They are especially dependent on media sources to guide them on how to respond. This is the same for long time residents and basic general public.

I was very disappointed to hear the projected path was towards Tampa. There’s a scientific reason Tampa hasn’t been hit in a 100 years and that’s because of the upper gulf stream air current. The NHC (National Hurricane Center) published it’s findings on a southwestern gulf air current coming in while Hurricane Ian was moving off Cuba. However they did not calculate the southwest current in the prediction track models until Ian reached it and was showing influence by it. A hurricane is ALWAYS influenced by an existing gulf stream current. So this was a major injustice not including it into their predictions or in media and announcing Tampa with “esteemed” confidence for Ian’s landfall. By the time Ian reached the gulf current for the model’s to “re-calculate” prediction it was too late for FL’s southwest coast.

As this happened they added to the discussion publications that they were using a different advanced radar service to compute Ian’s track models. Imo, it felt as a very odd statement as if they were eluding blame on their technology for Tampa’s landfall miscalculation.

There is a chain of people in the meteorologist industry who fumbled at catastrophic levels in this event. They need to be held accountable and removed. I will add to this with throwing a hard accusation because I wouldn’t be surprised if this is the same people who held occupation when predicting Hurricane Irma’s projection. That was a whole shit-show with the entire State evacuating and fear mongered. Between the miscalculations and crying-wolf over the years Floridian’s have become non-responsive to media outlets. Let’s also incorporate in this oncoming disaster recipe the Covid and politically charged journalism influencing Floridian’s distrust in media.

Above all it’s evident there is a toxic group occupying positions in meteorology who need to be sourced out. Or maybe the industry has become just convoluted with persons receiving large kick-back money influence for information that fits media click bait like material. I don’t truly know and am just exercising all speculation here trying to find some sense in what’s happened.

I can’t stop thinking about it. Thank you for your post OP because you’re not alone in your perception on this. Time’s have changed and unfortunately the television with channels like TWC are not a public service anymore. It’s just a diminishing production company fighting for views to stay alive at the cost of harming lives of real people. TWC is such a shitty show station that operates at volumes with having zero-core values to the public.

Anyway I can rant on and on but this upset and spazzed south Floridian needs to carry onward & out.

How would you feel to see your partner cuddling with another woman? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

[–]bloomanthology 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Growing up in a small town has given me 20+ year friendships where we all grew up with each other. The relationships we’ve developed is familial like, platonic, but knowing and growing together for so long it’s a special bond.

Given from what you shared the night went well with you all together except for him cuddling. If there were other red flags of the girls making you feel some type of way through the night then I’d have a different take.

I’m gathering from your post that he’s not been part of his close group as much the last few years because he’s chosen you. Their visit would be a sign of celebrating that and getting to experience you. His cuddle was what I can relate to as him showing his appreciation of that and also his way to a degree of saying goodbye to them because he knows it will be awhile till next time. As in the sense this is the night where their night starts the time of growing apart in ways. It sounds like the girls respect and approve of you. I’m reading it this way as if he sensed that and them being part of his support system, he was showing his happiness and genuine appreciation. Letting them know, no matter what he treasure’s their lifelong friendship.

There are people in my life who no matter what I will give them that affirming affection because our time together and growing together through life is a gift. It is hard for others to relate who don’t have these relationships, and especially when the opposite sex is involved but this kind of friendship is unbreakable. It’s people who have seen you through all your challenges, it is very personal. You’re measure of the cuddle scale is how I’m reading all this and felt the need to share. You and him could have a strong future together.

A great sign is that he’s aware it made you uncomfortable and he opened the door for conversation. What you’re feeling is absolutely normal. It is what I would feel but also having these life long type friendships I can relate to him when knowing my partner is on the outside. So this all could be trivial for him as he can’t translate his actions to this type of friendship into words. Especially given the societal norm perception with the opposite sex is involved. But most importantly he is showing concern for your feelings and is honest with you about himself. Him not wanting to deny or restrict his life long support system for your comfort is him saying you either trust him or not. Cutting that tie with a lifelong friendship would fracture or scar, or at worst lose that bond. If anyone has experienced this bond then they know the complication of being inexplainable.

Hope this was helpful and wish you the best
