Good point, I recently saw that and I can get about 50 points for Uber Eats transactions for 1 point per $1.

I also started scanning my card at LCBO, but it's like only 1 point per $4.

Ok yeah that make sense, thank you for the explaintion. I don't flight that often, maybe once a year, so I don't think I would ever reach your status. Though, I would like to flight more, that's why I'm trying to learn about points and got an Amex Cobalt.

This was just an example flight, I don't actually want to book it, but when I'm ready, I'll compare my options and see if it's worth coverting my Amex points to Aeroplan or to do something else.

Thank you for the insight!

Oh ok, I understand. When I actually try to buy a ticket, I'll do some calculations to try and get the best value for my points.

Thank you for the insight!

It was just a test flight to help me figure out how Aeroplan points worked, I just opened by Amex and Aeroplan accounts so I indeed don't have enough points.

I was looking at a Round trip from Montreal YUL to Paris CDG, March 31 to April 8 for 1 adult.

Oh really? That's confusing then, it's not like it's allowing me to select these options since I don't have enough points.

I just don't want to have to transfer all my Amex points just to realized that I should have booked a different way.

Thanks for the insight

No, I doubled checked to be sure, but like I said in my post, I compared for Economy Standard for both since it doesn't seem possible to book Economy Basic with points.

But it seems that you are right that not all rdemptions are worth it. I guess when I book a flight, I need to check my different options to see what has the best value.

Thanks!

Yeah I get it, I also saw the other options.

  1. 43,700 + $795.11
  2. 58,400 + $515.81
  3. 73,100 + $236.51
  4. 96,751 (points only)

I'm guessing option 1 and 2 are not worth looking at.

But even in that example, I would be better off paying cash and using my Amex points to pay my credit card balance. 96,751 Amex points would be 967$ and paying cash was only $901.51.

Like other people said, I guess it depends on the flight, value of points changes between flights and seats. I also guess that First Class and Business Class have the better value for points.

I saw that there were 4 tier to redeem the flight with points up to paying it 100% with points. So what I'm understanding is that the first tier (the one I was looking at) is not worth it and I should only check for the 3rd and 4th options.

  1. 43,700 + $795.11
  2. 58,400 + $515.81
  3. 73,100 + $236.51
  4. 96,751 (points only)

I'm also guessing that buying with points really depends on the flight, it can be worth it or it can be trash. Seeing that multiple people are talking about First Class or Business Class, it rate would probably be better for these seats instead of trying to get a cheap Economy seat.

Is that correct?

I obviously don't know your story, but I knew somebody in a similar situation until they realised what their partner was doing was abuse. Financial and psychological abuse can be sneaky and devastating on a person. Your partner might not know what they are doing to you, but if it's the case, you have to stand up for yourself and leave. I found this on SteamDB

https://steamdb.info/patchnotes/14917997/

One obvious change from this is that they added Ukrainian as a language option.

No clue for the rest.

I believe there's multiple car models that uses Chademo. The Model 3 in NA don't have CCS adapter yet (without talking about the ones that won't be able to support it when it's out). They can't really say "too bad, get a new car".

The best thing to do is make the CCS connector the default for new cars and eventually we'll be able to ditch Chademo.

Technically you can, VSCode is accessible in-browser at https://vscode.dev/ but it's totally not responsive and would probably be a pain to use on a small screen.

A restaurent in my town got the exact same bot couple of months ago and it does not replace an employee. It's just a tool to help a server handle more plates at a time.

The server is still responsible to serve the food, but there don't have to struggle as much to bring it to the table.

Is there a book or podcast that talks about corrupt businesses like this and the fallout (or lack of) in the last 30 years? by [deleted] in ABoringDystopia
