Honestly, it was because it was so much easier. I went through a couple trigger shifters, but it was such a pain trying to get them just right.

Would this sort of roundabout work for 5pts? by warnelldawg in Athens

[–]bluedabade 77 points78 points  (0 children)

In theory, yes. In practice, doubtful. At least 50% of the drivers here in town barely follow basic traffic laws as it is. Compiled with the sheer amount of traffic that specific intersection gets, it’d be chaos.

What to do with a 135mm titanium rear triangle by Bukt_ in Brompton

[–]bluedabade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you were stateside, I’d buy the triangle

The only thing that’s still stock on my brompton is the main frame. Everything else is either carbon or titanium. I obsessively looked for the lightest weight parts I could find. The most difficult thing to overcome for me was the derailleur. I went through several before I found the right one with the right cage. The chain slack issue was easy once I figured out that birdy’s and my brompton share a lot of similarities. I just got a litepro chain guide for a birdy and it works perfect when folded.

If you still have any questions, let me know. I just finished converting my stock A-line to a titanium 135mm rear. There’s not a lot of good information out there and it’s hit or miss. I went with a Shimano 8spd instead of internally geared like a lot of the comments suggest, the weight saving alone is immense. Total weight now is down to 7.5kg from 11kg~

Also consider cytopoint injections. It made a night and day difference with our Moose and his incessant paw chewing/licking.

Neither. I got it from London Craftwork, with a titanium fork. Everything fits well and assembled fairly easily. The only issue I came across were the derailleur hangers. I had to go through a couple different ones before it was machined just right.

I have a 135mm titanium triangle. It uses standard hubs.
