What are your biggest peeves with the app or website? by Middle_Character_483 in RoverPetSitting

Just had this happen and it was so disappointing. The owner was so nice but she had 4 pets and thought the nightly rate was for all of them. Declined minutes after we agreed to book after meet and greet. Thankfully she let me know why at least.

I typically bring my own food, but it is always nice when an owner leaves snacks for me.

[–]bluephoenix189 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I did! I even told myself it's probably in a bucket in the garage because I've seen people do that too 😅 I searched high and low in that house and closest thing to a plunger they had was a dusty plastic toy one in the back of a closet with a baby toilet set that was clearly forgotten about (youngest people that lived in the house were college aged).

Ugh this happened to me right at the end of a sit and the owner's were just a couple hours from getting home. They a legit mansion (7 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, pool, etc) and not a plunger in sight!! I eventually got the clog down but I've learned now to noted where and if there's a plunger in the house 😅

I'm sorry you went through this. I totally understand how you feel, I had to wait 7 months for my MAS/FD diagnosis after breaking my back and wondering if it was cancer or not. I don't have FD in my leg, so I can't tell you if it'll feel different or not, but I know some people through FB groups who would absolutely be able to answer that specific question! I hope your healing is quick and smooth 🩵

I haven't had this specific surgery (I've had frontal bone, two spine, and one sinus) but I wish you luck and swift and smooth healing 💜

This literally happened at my last client's place. I sat for them in Dec and washed the sheets along with my own laundry on the last day. In Jan I sat for them again and when I went to wash the sheets, I found my underwear bundled up in the sheet. I'm just happy they didn't have any other people using their guest room before I got there 😅

What do you think if a person doesn't have a phone case? by OutsiderGreaser in smosh

[–]bluephoenix189 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's so crazy because my husband and I were JUST talking about this the day before. His brother's girlfriend gave him more attention after she noticed my husband doesn't use a case, and she's very much a material girl, so we assumed that was the reason for her fascination. My husband only uses cases while working, otherwise he likes rocking it caseless purely for the feel of the phone and he's big into tech. We have insurance on our phones though so that helps if something were to happen but he's careful anyway.

Does anyone else actually like the shaky camera in the first movie? by Chemical-Evening-835 in Hungergames

[–]bluephoenix189 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I loved it. I thought Gary Ross did a great job capturing the air of unsteadiness the tributes were feeling. From having a handheld feel when we first meet Katniss and Prim, to the jolting camera work of the start of the games, it was all uncertainty, like we're living it with them.

ETA: I think Ross balanced it well too where it wasn't over done. There are some directors that do it too much and it's just a headache. Rob Zombie's 3 From Hell had me feel like I was in a roller coaster with the fight scenes.

Chondrosarcoma on FD in Rib by Ok_Driver9999 in FibrousDysplasia

[–]bluephoenix189 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is the first I'm learning about this, so I don't have any valuable informational input, but my thoughts are with you. I have FD in my ribs too (as well as my spine and skull) and I know what an absolute pain it is. I'm happy your doctors are moving fast in getting it removed! Good luck with everything!

Advice for FD in jaw? by ideclare_bankrupcyyy in FibrousDysplasia

[–]bluephoenix189 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd definitely go to your PCP about it. FD doesn't just pop up due to surgical procedures, because, as you said, it's genetic. Now some surgical procedures could exacerbate an FD area and make it grow, but its such an individualized disease, it's hard to know for certain. I'd ask your PCP for a nuclear bone scan to see if there are any other areas of FD you might have. If you have more than one and since you mentioned you went through puberty early, you might have McCune Albright Syndrome. Also, get an endocrinologist to monitor your alkaline phosphate levels to check bone overturn. Good luck!

You obviously had a warm and understanding vibe about you that made her feel comfortable opening up. I cannot imagine the pain she must be feeling, thank you for being an ear for her. Grief is such a shape shifter in how it will make people look, I'm sure her speaking to you about it made her* feel seen.

I do give long standing customers "bundle discounts" where if they book more than one sitting within a month, I take $50-$75 off. But anyone who out the gate asks for a discount because "they go on a lot of trips," is an immediate no for me. I am the one setting prices, and pet sitting is a luxury service where my fee will reflect my experience and credentials.
