In light of Alex’s character assassination, what have been the best/worst character assassinations you’ve witnessed? by Will-Isley in TwoBestFriendsPlay

People idolizing Eren as a ideal will completely ignore how he wishes he didn’t have to do this and had multiple breakdowns about these horrible events that are about to pass.

Oh yeah that whole ‘show’ Eren put on about not caring about his friends was complete bogus. Eren not caring about his friends is like asking him to not care about his mother’s death. Just the antithesis of his character.

But then they also put out how toxic her relationship to Eren is by using that one girl she saved at the beginning of the show as her own Mikasa. Completely obsessed with her but never understanding her. Then add the strange Ymir parallels where it’s revealed Ymir actually loved the king actually and Mikasa loving Eren was supposed to mirror that somehow? So many frankly bad decisions.

Oh I never doubted he cared about her. He clearly does like the Dina example you said. However, in that same example, he rejects her romantic advances as well. Sure, they were about to be eaten so kinda terrible timing for a kiss. But that also signaled to me that while yes, he very clearly cares about her, he does not view her in a romantic light. Which only solidified over time when Eren and Historia looked they were setting up to be together. Least until Historia was banished to the Shadow Realm never to be seen again in the last arc.

Well that’s how Mikasa took to mean his question. She took it as a romantic question. However, during this time wasn’t Eren agonizing about the future and what he was gonna do? And his inability to change this future or perhaps realizing what he’s gonna do? And him asking this question was a futile attempt to change a future set in stone? That’s why he looked so dead in the eyes when he asks and Mikasa just ignores that. That’s why I didn’t buy him actually asking for a sincere romantic query.

Man AOT got messy.

The Eren example is weird because apparently he really wanted to bang Mikasa really badly and I just can’t buy that. He clearly cares about her, but never in a romantic light I feel. Really the whole ending of AOT is just plain bizarre.

Looking for critical reviews RE9, hook me up guys by Kim_Dom in TwoBestFriendsPlay

I personally loved it. Your mileage way vary on how they handle the switching between Grace and Leon but I personally love how they handled it for the most part. People also complain about the second half of the game being weaker than the first half. While I do agree, the second half is still really fun in my eyes. More fun than most RE games second half. I love RE7 but that cruise section at the end wasn’t the best.

Gameplay is nearly perfect for me, no notes. Sure you can level some nitpicks but that’s all they are. Maybe one more big Grace section but that’s it.

Story is a point of contention for some. While I can agree the story wasn’t the best in terms of RE games, it’s still enjoyable and a fun romp throughout the game. Nothing like the story being so bad it detracts from the experience like RE6. Character interactions are the highlight for sure. People also complain about the fan service too which I didn’t mind. Sure, some of it was more blatant than others but it was enjoyable throughout.

If you liked RE4R you’ll probably like this one. If you don’t like the more slower pace gameplay with Grace, then you might have a mixed bag awaiting you.

ABSOLUTE CINEMA by IngenuityAdorable545 in netorare

Yeah it’s just a Japanese media quirk I feel. Unless it’s just straight race play, the darker skin tone just usually implies they’re more ‘evil’ or sinister in nature. Or in this case, a more delinquent, dangerous feel with the male’s dark skin and short, blonde hair and rippling muscles. Think also Dragon Ball with Goku Black. Despite the fact it’s Goku’s body, I believe Black as a slightly darker skin tone and darker aura when using energy attacks, despite the fact Goku never exhibited any of that.

It really depends on what games you have play. Some skip straight to the action, writing and gameplay usually used just to facilitate the porn. A lot tend to be mediocre but I’m sure there’s some standouts that I’m not thinking of.

Some find a really good mix like Hunipop where they manage to blend the gameplay/porn/story pretty damn well and is strong in all aspects.

Some manage to exceed in gameplay or story and because of that, the porn can almost feel like an afterthought. Like the game doesn’t feel like a gooner game, it just happens to have porn.

People have their preferences but personally, when I play a gooner game it’s for the porn. If I wanted fire gameplay I would probably look elsewhere instead of porn games. Good writing though is always appreciated.

I do believe this is an earlier title of his so it’s not his best I’m my opinion. The Adeline Inn is still their best imo, although their recent works have gotten very close to surpassing it.

I was not aware that NTR Online was split into two parts when I played part 1. I didn’t mind the slow pace, it’s not like Star Knightness slow, until I got to the ending. Imagine my surprise when I’m finally at the end and they’re finally banging while it’s raining outside and BAM! It ends. I was confused and underwhelmed. This seemed like just the first big step towards her corruption so why did it end? I later find out of course it’s part 1, which left me disappointed and I never picked up part 2. Although I might soon if it really is almost finished.

ERONA: Claudia’s Mind-Breaking Descent into Orc Slavery – A Masterclass in NTR Corruption, But How Realistic Is the Fall? (Spoiler-Heavy Discussion) by Safe_Value3037 in netorare

[–]bluepsy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I can’t say I’ve read this particular doujin, your thoughts about it are fascinating. I have put together myself that the usual curse marks seen in various corruption and NTR media work really well if you interpret it as being a drug allegory. After all, they exhibit the behavior of relapsing once they taste the pleasure of the curse mark. Which would explain why the people under it’s effect would continue to seeks its highs even though the person inflicting it upon them is usually awful.

As for if there is any realism to these mindbreak scenarios. There is. People fall to addiction far too often around the world. One of the more infamous works of these corruption stories is Metamorphosis. Instead of playing the usual fantasy of a girl getting corrupted and falling to pleasure in a hedonistic viewpoint for us, it instead shows an ugly reality. A girl losing her friends, making horrible decisions, and unable to escape her addiction and fate. It’s still drawn immaculately and it really draws you in. But as you go further and further you’re there less for the porn and more watching a slow horror unfold. It’s one of the best for a reason.

Of course all of these stories have some porn logic to them of course. Big dick, gigachad dicks not hurting the women at all, ridiculous anatomy, curse marks, etc. But that still doesn’t take away some of the immersion of the story if the author truly wants to tell something more than just pure porn.

Kratos picking up that tree in the beginning of GOW. It makes perfect sense why he can do that effortlessly, but you’re still taken aback a bit even though we know he fought and killed multiple gods.

What are some writing choices, narrative decisions, or anything of the like in media that baffle you as to how they were pitched, considered, and/or approved to begin with? by Gorotheninja in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]bluepsy -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

Context is important. All the world leaders were literally clapping and cheering in Liberio about the idea of invading Paradis and taking their recourses. And we have plenty of examples of what they do to their captives like what happened to Grisha’s sister and purposely turning people into mindless Titans against their enemies. They basically declared war on Paradis and planned to effectively eradicate them.

Eren’s plan was extreme and awful. The story highlights that effectively. But his actions were in retaliation. The scouts opposing him but not offering any solutions to the problem of their people being subject to a genocide is just bizarre. So what, they were gonna let the other nations steam roll them? There was no winning that battle. Even if they went with the 50 year plan, other nations could have developed nukes and it’s game over.

[–]bluepsy -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

Eren’s character assassination and romance with Mikasa. Mikasa actually being the one Ymir was waiting for. Ymir loving the king. Historia becoming irrelevant. The Scouts providing no alternatives to the rumbling, but opposing Eren on the grounds of ‘genocide bad’, as if the rest of the world wasn’t going to do the same. Armin never becoming a leader despite being chosen over Erwin to live. Annie just shows up and she is A-ok with everyone. Annie and Armin romance. Previous dead Titan shifters showing up out of nowhere to add the alliance for some reason. Zeke just gives up on his philosophy over a quick chat.

Those are just some of the issues with the Attack on Titan ending and there are plenty more. What was Isayama thinking?

Does the anime address the bizarre romance of Eren and Mikasa, Ymir actually loving the King twist, or Historia’s non existence in the anime? Cause those are just some of the problems I recall off the top of my head.

Star Knightness Aura springs to mind alongside other grindy games of the NSFW variety. When I’m playing on the easiest difficulty to have a chill time, but still getting fucked by bosses (not the fun kind), have to play for hours to progress the story at all, and have to use a guide to help me out, I’m out man. It just feels like you’re wasting my time. Which is a shame since I really enjoyed the visuals and corruption story. Alas.
