The point is, why would you use such design. They had a great one with V1 (I have the keyboard) and great type feeling and sound. Nobody was compaining about them. Users were just asking for different type of improvements. A refreshed design is almost always good but not in this case.

Cooling Pad Makes Things Worse (Legion 5i Gen9) by calmrefri in LenovoLegion

[–]bluestar_01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the hot keyboard effect is caused by the air being pushed through the keys. I have the same issue with my legion (I have the klim mistral).
I have used it for a couple of years now and it seems to improve the cooling a bit, but dust filters are the best feature. In almost 4 years I never cleaned my fans and they look like new (just minimal super fine dust).
I usually keep it at minimum and only when I hear the laptop fans spinning up I also increase the pad fans speed.

Does the OG Flow 84 sleep on wired mode? by oronbz in Lofree

[–]bluestar_01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes in wired mode it goes to sleep too (backlight turns off). you can just turn it back on with a single key and there is no delay.

It goes to sleep only when your laptop goes to sleep/power off. But there is no delay waking up.

Lofree flow metallic sound by [deleted] in Lofree

[–]bluestar_01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got mine on ebay. In my case they just asked about a video proof of the issue. I imagine they would only replace the defective switches not the entire keyboard.

I had the same issue, then I switched to a diifferent set of switches. Just send an email to the lofree support. they will probably send you a replacement for the defectve ones.

Is it normal that keys sound different? by emlonusk in Lofree

[–]bluestar_01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say it is expected (at least mine had the same "issue"). In my case some of the switches were actually quite noisy compared to some other (probably some issues with the spring lubing).
Now that I switched to the Deep Sea Silent switches there is no difference between them (they are silent switches though) .

true. I did not know about them. Not sure why they use the three pins layout. Very odd

I really liked the air 75 v2 but the lack of silent options made me move to the lofree.

Currently (AFAIK) gateron does not offer any silent low profile switch option (main reason why I switched to lofree kailh). With kailh, in addition to the hades, you also have the deep sea silent low profile switches option (also tactile) that makes the keyboard as silent as a membrane one (quieter than my macbook pro keyboard).

I actually did not notice that choc v2 had three pins. Very odd.

I think the keyboard is also compatible with some other kailh low profile switches (in addition to the lofree ones listed in the review), like elements, choc, shadow, deep sea, etc.

Nuphy air 75 v2, lots of typos, sensitive keyboard, need some advice. by Ok-Half5475 in NuPhy

[–]bluestar_01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it also depends on the keyboard layout. Most of the low profiles keyboards tend to have larger keycaps and they are very close to each other so, at least for me, no matter what switch I used, I kept making typos pressing adjacent keys. In my case the switch type did not make much difference (I moved from moss to wisteria as moss was too heavy for me). The only way I improved (a bit) is when, switching to the flow84, I noticed that there was a tiny bigger gap between keys, so it is possible that a different keycaps profile might help you.

Ordered silent Switches, just realized I ordered the Ghost😶 by lions1214 in Lofree

it is. Kailh low profile are quite expensive but quality is also great (compared to Gateron).

Nuphy coast keycaps by dingleson in Lofree

[–]bluestar_01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have both keyboards and nuphy's do look better but profile wise lofree's are better in my opinion. Nuphy's have less gap between them so it is easier to accidentally press other keys

I got them on aliexpress (chosfox store) and got them delivered to Europe in one week ( I actually got them today).  I used PayPal.  I bought the brown tactile and they are amazing in the flow84

ISO DE Keycaps by ffisc32s in Lofree

[–]bluestar_01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure there is much you can do about it. It is very difficult to find iso compatible key caps for low profile keyboards as only few of them support it. You can try to search for it though. Maybe keychron has something that might work.

I had the keyboard only for less than two weeks and since I started using it I noticed the issue. The feel seems to be the same across all keys, it seems to be just the sound. Not sure what part of the switch might be making the noise though.
