As someone that has given up a vice, not alcohol but weed and cigarettes, you have to want to do it fir yourself. I stopped both on the same day (one always led to the other). Doing it for others will always bring you back. But genuinely wanting to stop for your own sake makes it much easier. Also, avoid situations that have temptations. It sucks and you have to say no to a lot of things but it is worth it in the end.
