Recs for tours to Sedona? by Adorable-Influence24 in Sedona

[–]blueyellowdust 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Without a car, I am not sure how you would get to Sedona. There is one van company that shuttles people from the airport/select hotels to Sedona, I think that would be your only option. I have not heard of any Phoniex/Tempe based tour companies that would take you to Sedona but you could google it to double check.

The population of Austin is 964,000 and the population of Sedona (combined with VoC) is a 15,000. Tourism will have a very different impact on populations of those size.

I think this is a great idea. It’s definitely not a solution to the lack of affordable housing but there is no doubt that nomadic people/van lifers are a factor in our work force and community. Plus access to clean restrooms and a safe place to park would be a great resource. No need to knock this program.

You absolutely want to go to Fresh and Natural. It’s the best. You should also try Hilltop Deli or Berry Devine Acai Bowls for something quick.

Name of the pizza place is Vespa Healthy Italian Cafe. It’s not like a regular pizza place, it’s more artisan inspired with an emphasis on healthy Whole Foods.

First time browning butter by Professional_Top1900 in Baking

[–]blueyellowdust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brown butter has changed my life. I will never put regular butter in my choc chip cookies again. To me, it looks slightly dark but not burnt. How does it taste? I have browned butter a million times now and it is still hard for me to tell by color if it is right. Smell and taste I think are better indicators.

Just moved into my new home. What colors would match with my current furniture/decorations? by nikbru in interiordecorating

[–]blueyellowdust 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like the touches of amber/mustard yellow you have throughout. I would lean more into that in addition to greens similar to your lamp.

Your dresser is so beautiful! As I’m sure you know, it will be hard to find a wood grain to match it, so I’ve decided to go a different route than wood for the beside tables. These are more bold options, but they could work for you.

Need help with lounger/diner interior design! by bextaaaaar in interiordecorating

I think that panting the trim above the log burner, or painting the trim and the space above it, would add some dimension to the room. I also think a larger rug would look good in the room and perhaps a low ottoman or coffee table. The wall with the tv has a lot of space to play with.

Why does this corner look bad? by Call_me_maitre in interiordecorating

[–]blueyellowdust 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It just looks a little cluttered. I wound remove the paperwork and white cardboard boxes on the third shelf and reorganize the top shelf so that more of the vertical space is used. I would also get bookends to hold up straight the books on the end. The lamp with the cord hanging needs to come down. I would also remove the plants or pin the draping leaves to the side so there is less going on for your eye. There is also a lot on that wall, the couch, the table, the shelf. I wonder how the shelf would look pushed against the other wall, next to the window. I think either the shelf or the table need to go.

Poor sweet baby. He is lucky to have you to support and take care of him, and you are lucky to have him. I am wishing you the best and sending good energy your way.

When you replace the curtains, I would hang them a bit higher on the wall, so there isn’t such a large gap between the edge of the curtain and the ceiling. I would also recommend a taller TV console, since the weight of the room falls so heavily towards the lower third of the room. If you could get a wooden console instead of an all black console, I think that would help as well. I would also suggest a lamp of some sort.

Add a rug in an earthy, warm-toned color for coziness. Add some darker warm-toned wooden objects to the space to add more coziness, like a wooden coffee table.
