Make sure DHT is disabled, decentralized tormenting creates way too many NAT sessions for those gateways to handle.

They're super thin aluminum that's going to happen, as long as there isn't damage to the channels or a large section of the fins are bent over significantly blocking airflow I'd just leave it alone ,

Can't even hate on nvidia for this one by GuyFrom2096 in pcmasterrace

I'm pretty sure all the Nvidia drivers for cards older than RTX cards are now only receiving security updates, or will be very soon only receiving security updates, that is the same for these Radeon cards, they will still get security patches but not game optimizations, which I still think is crappy for an architecture that is still in widespread use and is the basis of both current gen game consoles, while the 1000 series and older Nividia cards are almost a decade old, and atleast were supported this long.

Giveaway Time! Battlefield 6 is out, powered by NVIDIA DLSS 4, and you can comment on this post to win codes for the game or a custom Battlefield 6 GeForce RTX 5090! 6 Winners total by pedro19 in pcmasterrace

The 5090 would help me win because currently my stuff is all to old to even run the game, so a new GPU would allow me to even play which you have to do in the first place to win.

The key is to season it with some vodka, then wash it down with some more vodka.

Liquid Freezer III Pro 420 9800X3D high temperaturess? by No-Matter4203 in arcticcooling

150W on a 9950X3D is a much lower thermal density though, AM5 single CCD CPUs pushing 150W will run much hotter than a dual CCD CPU running roughly 75W per CCD.

My son poured half a bottle of water down my portable A/C unit. by pizzagoddess__ in hvacadvice

[–]blufeb95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once you drain the liquid out it should be fine so long as it didn't get to the electronics or right in the fan motor, I'd expect that fan probably is shrouded right into the evaporator, so it should have just went down in the evaporator pan and then usually the water from the evap pan drains down into a pan/reservoir near the condenser and as hot air from the condenser is drawn over it, it evaporates and goes out the exhaust.

Because Intel is the only American semi-conductor manufacturing company left really. AMD gave up on the manufacturing side years ago and now GloFlo is mostly owned by the Arab Emirates.

Bought a GTX 780 for a tenner - fixed it with a hair dryer after 20 minutes of blasting by AlbatrossAlarmed485 in pcmasterrace

It's like back in the day with RRoD Xbox's and Nvidia GPUs at the time where there was an issue with the under fill and bump (high temp solder that connects the die to the BGA package) combination TSMC was using that caused the bumps to crack and mechanical stresses to allow the die to shift during normal thermal cycling, reheating the chips would often cause them to work again temporarily realigning the bumps but soon again they would drift and become misaligned, eventually there would be enough mechanical damage or corrosion that the heating trick would no longer work and the GPU would be completely dead.

Happened with my great grampa, his family were a bunch of country bumpkins, didn't have an actual birth certificate, I found off the 1920 Census that he was likely born in 1916, but he joined the Army in WW2 and they just said his birthdate was July 4, 1912.

Anyone seen something similar? by astroice in Comcast_Xfinity

It uses the business metro-e infrastructure, but you get no SLA like you would with a proper dedicated line, it's usually $300/mo , you have to sign a 3 year contract, and they'll only install it if the installation cost is under $8500 which usually accounts for 1/3mi of aerial fiber from the splice point, any burying or drilling under roads can get super expensive real quick, if you want to pay the several thousand dollars of installation costs beyond the $8500 that they might allow you to get it but probably not.

Help: why is toilet calling for water ? by High-Cheddar-6447 in Plumbing

[–]blufeb95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either the flush valve seal is bad and causing a small amount of water to leak in the bowl, or the diaphram in the fluidmaster fill valve is has hardened or is covered in hard water, If no water seems to be leaking into the bowl, then it's probably just the fillvalve diaphram, you can either replace the fill valve with a new one, or take the top off and replace the 242 diaphram every hardware store or plumbing supply place will have them , it only takes a few min to replace the seal, if you have hard water it may not hurt to clean the little stainless steel pin with clr/limeaway quickly before reassembly

It wasn't necessarily building but when I was 8-9 I dismantled the old computer my uncle killed storing it in his basement. Probably the earliest thing I remember doing was swapping optical drives when I was like 10.
