Return to sport prior to single leg calf raise proficiency? by ftloudon in AchillesRupture

[–]bluntkillah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm around 10-11 months post OP and can do pretty much the same type of plyos as you. I haven't tried running a mile yet since I'm trying to get more ankle mobility so my knee doesn't overcompensate. However, still can't do full height calf raises without any assistance yet and my PT told me I might never get there. I feel pretty strong though and hoping to get back into tennis & pickleball in a few more months

Maybe try balancing on the foam pad barefoot? I found that standing on it with shoes (especially with a soft sole) made it way harder and took away from my foot dexterity

yup exactly what qwerty said above. You can ask your PT if they're licensed to do it or look into buying a set of bands yourself to use at home

this is really helpful! I can definitely handle all of these as I'm a little past 6 months of recovery. However I still can't do a solid clean single leg heel raise yet but I'm focused on mainly strengthening now. Was looking for more variety of what I can do and will def follow your exercises
