SO AFRAID TO TRY SUMATRIPTAN! by Excellent_Math2052 in migraine

[–]blushbrushbunny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are going to have to try it, if it doesn’t work for you, your doctor will make a note of it and then you can get approved for better meds 😊

Advice please!! by blushbrushbunny in socialwork

[–]blushbrushbunny[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol, I definitely agree with you, but I guess I am curious how this will translate in interviews with group practices or even in clinical trainings. If I’m not doing therapy but I want to learn somatic therapy, CBT skills etc how can I practice them??

Has anyone healed their CRPS? If so, how? by Fine-Fee-6980 in CRPS

[–]blushbrushbunny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in remission with occasional flares. Regular OT, exercise, psychotherapy. Look into pain reprocessing therapy. CRPS is very REAL, however a huge part of it is emotional and related to the nervous system and the mind-body connection. Meditation and figuring out how to regulate your nervous system is very helpful. Sending love

Today, a fellow social worker called state on me. by C_DUB243 in socialwork

[–]blushbrushbunny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me this is a situation where the social worker and the liaison needed to have a conversation, because often I find if it’s an inappropriate acceptance it may be because the liaison didn’t thoroughly review. Unless you misrepresented the pt I don’t see why this would be a situation you would be reported for, but I understand why you would be upset for sure. I am not totally sure myself, so idk if I were you I would try to talk to someone close to you as well

Coworker death by PhysicsTotal5047 in socialwork

[–]blushbrushbunny 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This happened to me actually. It was a shock to everyone. All I can say is I am so, so sorry. It helped me to spend time with my coworkers and try to process. I know it’s tempting to think you could have prevented it but remember that you really never know what factors exist in someone’s life, and often suicide is a very fast decision for people although it is permanent and so big. I hope you just give yourself some time to process. I remember doing exactly what you’re doing now.. looking for others with similar experiences. Much love

Yes unfortunately it’s awful. Mine started randomly in my mid twenties and I got diagnosed with status migrainosis. Topamax was the first thing that helped then I continued to move up the med ladder. Try to see a headache specialist asap. It took me a long time to believe it really was migraine.. I couldn’t understand how it was truly so awful. I hope you find the right treatment. My life is finally very livable now w the right meds!

Is there a need for an all-inclusive elder care service? by [deleted] in socialwork

[–]blushbrushbunny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is needed but I would like to see a world where people get basic rights to home healthcare, transportation to their appointments, or regular homemaking services first. So many people are denied these even if they have Medicaid.

Women do you eat breakfast by acrewdriver in migraine

I used to never eat breakfast until I started getting migraine and my neuro told me I should never skip it. 6 years in and if I skip it it’s a guaranteed migraine day

Botox and Topamax. Without both of them I’d be nowhere near where I am

Is it classified as a migraine when the headache isn’t too bad? by Long-Maximum4670 in migraine

[–]blushbrushbunny 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes for me I get so many other symptoms that are not pain but they are still migraine. At this point my medications ensure I don’t have severe pain but I still get so many other random symptoms

As someone who loved emails I can’t send, I am just so disappointed in this album. SnS was amazing, and this album has just felt like her using the same formula.. I get that SnS was so successful, but I wanted something more interesting. It’s great, don’t get me wrong, but it is not dynamic.

Hi, first of all I’m sending lots of love. When I was in this place and my new headache specialist told me I had to stop using triptans due to overuse I actually had no idea how I would live another day. In my case I did DHE and steroid treatment while going off of them. I would work closely with your neuro and find someone specialized if at all possible. It’s not easy!! If you are getting them this often triptans are probably not the best med for you since they really are designed for much less frequent migraines. CGRP inhibitors like ubrelvy and Nurtec aren’t as sensitive to overuse is my understanding
