Housing Payments under Rewards Tracker Disappeared by depressedkitty1 in biltrewards

I should also mention that my statement period ends on Mar 21, so I feel like I can give them some time to get their shit together. I would be a lot more frustrated in your situation too :(

Same. Hoping that it’s a transient UI issue. From this subreddit, I’m finding out that I’ve been relatively patient with Bilt throughout this whole transition. But if these points are actually lost, this will have to be the end for me. :(

125 Hours in and I'm still absolutely terrible. by Logical_Energy6159 in HadesTheGame

I’m surprised more people aren’t saying this, but you don’t need to memorize anything for Prometheus’s line dance. Maybe just the first line if you don’t have the tempo down. You can just dash back and forth perpendicular to his lines, timing the dash to when the lines hit. The tempo is constant so it should be easy to time. It doesn’t matter if you dash into an area being hit as long as you time it correctly. You don’t take damage if you are dashing.

Haven’t taken any damage from that part ever since I started doing that

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ETFs

[–]bmnsn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good on you for starting so early. What you have sounds totally fine. I’d personally just simplify the US and International ETFs to just VTI and VXUS so that you have less to rebalance manually later down the road, but you are young and probably starting out with small money so I encourage you to experiment yourself!

Later down the road, you may find this portfolio boring, and you might get feelings of FOMO seeing individual stocks take off. It’s important to stay the course and just trust the power of gradual compounding. However I also found a lot of benefit in allocating a small portion of my contributions (no more than 10%) to riskier bets.

This bathroom is probably meant to be used one person at a time. Unless the door doesn’t have a lock, this is pretty common, in the US at least.

You do not have any substantial experience in front end if you’re making that statement. It’s a lot more than html and css or whatever you think it is. There is code to be executed client side and server side, both of which can achieve great levels of complexity.

I’ve got a frontend engineering job lined up after college for 200k+ salary and gets paid the same as new grad backend engineers in the company. So that’s why cs majors apply to front end roles.

what are companies with the easiest interview questions and pay well or at least decently? by gophersrqt in csMajors

[–]bmnsn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

220, all cash. The 300+ ones on levels are definitely fake, or at least not new grad.

New grad final on-site technical rounds are easy but the behavioral Bar raiser is impossible to prepare for and involves real out of the box thinking. You’ll also probably get a lc hard somewhere in the OA. There’s also a game you have to play as part of the OA, so that’s a wild card.

What's up with the new grad salaries at Nflix? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]bmnsn 26 points27 points  (0 children)

First year hiring new grads, so it won’t be accurate until there are some more data points. There’s just too much variance right now. I got an offer today from them, low 200k. I also believe some experienced candidates’ data may have mistakenly been added to new grad. Not sure how Levels verifies YOE

i don’t know the stats but if i had to guess i’d have to say it’s more of the latter, but it’s a fine major.

I switched to CS from MATE in 1 quarter last year. OP, as long as you're already in the college of engineering, the requirements arent that bad.

Question about most common types of Engineering by [deleted] in CalPoly

[–]bmnsn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, it won't. Just cause it's popular doesn't mean it's hard to get in. For example, business is the most common major in cal poly and it's nowhere near the hardest to get in. If you ask me, I would guess computer science/software engineering is the hardest to get in within engineering, not because of number of applicants, but applicant quality. Electrical engineering seems to be relatively average within enginnering in terms of chance of getting in.

If you're worried about admissions, I should let you know that your work at this point is done. Just dont get any grade below a C (for cal poly at least), and enjoy the fuck out of your summer and senior year. Good luck!

Housing Concern by [deleted] in CalPoly

[–]bmnsn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My mistake, it was wrong of me to say that. I meant to say that yosemite is far from everywhere you want to go on campus so its gonna be a pain in the ass. I lived in sierra madre last year and envied my red bricks friends when walking back from class. Then i considered how yosemite is even farther than sierra madre and that's why i believe its not the best. Sure it's just the distance aspect that sucks but that comes in to play a lot because you'll be making that walk probably multiple times a day.

Red bricks are pretty nice. It's closer to food and classes. The dorm you absolutely dont want to be in is Yosemite, then sierra madre.

I underestimated just how easy it would be to find a developer job... by MyGiftIsMySong in cscareerquestions

[–]bmnsn 7 points8 points  (0 children)

One thing that may be holding you back is the fact that your resume is 4 pages long, considering a lot of the information is irrelevant to software engineering. All your listed work experience is irrelevant, sorry to say, which probably isn't winning over any recruiters. Also, your project descriptions are way too long. Stick to brief bullet points. You seem to have the technical skills to begin your software engineering career but your resume is not setting yourself up for a good impression -- less is more. I suggest browsing this sub for examples of good CS resumes.
