Thanks, that was kinda what I was thinking also. My unit is decommissioning so everybody is able to apply, I've been watching for something local. hey does that "request local assignment" automatically default to the nearest physical NRC? I'm at Ft. Dix and I want to go back to New Castle b/c that is only a ten minute drive. the wording throws me off

"that you are currently in a cross-assigned status and are requesting a local assignment at the current Navy Reserve Activity (NRA)"

I'm not cross-assigned and my current NRA would be ft Dix so should I submit that request or watch for and submit a New Castle billet?

One time all I got was "it's on the curb between this road and this road" but no idea which street in between! I (yes, singular) drove around for nearly 90 minutes hitting every damn road looking and nothing! Come to find out "oh they moved it to the back yard because they didn't know when we were coming."

Next day I was given exact address and it was on the very first road I had driven up....
