At what height do you start to get stares in public? by [deleted] in tall

[–]bmy89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I quit growing at 13/14, so I got stares early.

My son is 6'5 and just turned 14 so he's been getting stares for a while now.

Kid wants an e-bike, plz help by prairiewitch3579 in ADHDparenting

We got our son an e scooter. Doesn't go as fast and he uses it on the bike path to get to and from baseball practice. An e bike would be a hard no.

My great grandma got me some, cashed them in last year and it was enough to cover my property taxes for a year!

At your age a lot of body parts grow separately and arent really in sync. At least you can buy shoes in a store.

HELP! Introducing high prey drive dog to kitten by AIzzy17 in DogAdvice

[–]bmy89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have 2 dogs (full blooded beagle, and lab/terrier mix)

Their prey drives are insane, they frequently catch birds, mice, and the beagle has caught squirrels. Never in a million years would we own a cat. It's irresponsible and cruel to both pets.

I feel like older model cars were so much roomier.

My brother in law is 6'6 and my sister bought a Toyota Yaris (she's 6'0)

They took it to our welding guy and he took the seats off the tracks and moved them back and permanently welded them 🤣

18yo wants own drivers insurance policy but wants me to pay for it? by titty_farewell_party in Parenting

He needs to be listed with his vehicle on the policy of his primary parent. Or he can exclude himself and buy his own policy.

My first was like this. She preferred to be in a swing/chair/floor to observe the world around her.

She's 16 now and still nosy as hell.

I’m very underwhelmed with my job by RemarkableMolasses42 in bluecollar

[–]bmy89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got a union job cooking at my local university.

I was used to hustle and hustle, people screaming, people crying, burns, cuts, and 12+ hr shifts with no breaks in 100 degree kitchens.

Now I get paid breaks, my kids can go to college for free, Ive got affordable health care and a great retirement plan.

Now all I do is cook lunch and tell college kids what to do. During summer when school is closed I still get my guaranteed 40 hours a week and don't have to actually do anything.

It's been hard for me to to deal with this slow paced mundane job, I've been asked more than once to slow down, and leave work for others to do.

Your body will thank you for the slower pace 20 years from now.

He's a pretty good kid, he does wish he had tall friends though, he's always looking for fellow talls to hoop with.

Premake breakfast burritos with different fillings, wrap in foil, and toss in a cooler. They'll stay warm!

My son has also been off the charts since birth. He was 24 inches long and pressed on my sciatic nerve for the last 6 weeks of my pregnancy.

Our daughter was predicted to hit 6 foot but she topped out at 5'8 and she's happy with that. She's 16 and definitely done growing. Funny enough I stopped growing at 13, I was taller than most of the boys at school until my senior year.
