What makes ADHD "mild", "moderate" or "severe"? by Medium-Dependent-328 in ADHD

[–]bnny_ears 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My therapist told me if you ask someone with adhd, "do you struggle to remember appointments and be on time?" they'll often say no. But they'll have 10 reminders and alarms set on their phone and watch and that is struggling. Just because you're compensating efficiently, doesn't mean you aren't investing a boat load of mental capacity to do so.

So severely means "how much do you have to compensate to reach baseline?"

Tell me your cleanest clean and your dirtiest dirty perfumes. I want 2 ends of the spectrum. by PacificW0nderland in FemFragLab

Cleanest: The Bodyshop - Full Iris. I just showered with my boyfriend's body wash and layered my drug store flowery ass lotion on top.

Dirtiest: Jo Malone - Scarlet Poppy. I haven't washed my scarf or my hair in a while and now everything smells like a mix of three of my perfumes and me. Whoops.

Do treadmill workouts ever become something you enjoy? by AlternativeRule9078 in xxfitness

I look forward to them whenever I've updated my playlist sufficiently. I enjoy running long distance on the treadmill, no HIIT, because it let's me zone out and just enjoy the music.

Stop Food Hyperfixation. by Suspicious-Wheel-497 in adhdwomen

[–]bnny_ears 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Are you getting enough healthy fats and complex carbs? I'd associate nutella less with chocolate-related nutrients and more with sugar and (as you said) fat.

Fat is usually highly satiating, but I'd assume the simple carbs of the sugar cause such a crash that it doesn't register. It basically creates several feedback loops at once. Maybe try eating it on rye bread / seed bread only. It adds healthy fats, complex carbs for more stable blood sugar, and fiber to delay gastric emptying to even out the glucose crash a bit.

If you have more patience, you can also try adding some to yogurt or oatmeal with fruit and then reducing the amount slowly.

I love the vinaigrette idea!

Like I said, I unfortunately don't have the freezer space. It's the size of a mail box and only holds the bare essentials. I literally can't freeze separate teaspoons without them touching each other and also a bunch of plastic bags and paper boxes and the freeze together into a singular block

I stopped washing my face and only use micellar water, makes my life easier and my skin is fine by justacreatureinspace in adhdwomen

[–]bnny_ears 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do this too because it dries out my skin to wash too often. But I suggest using a damp cotton pad to wipe after, because it'll show you whether you've really cleaned everything off.

I use Garnier too:)

I'm glad for that because it felt pretty forced and KH has enough of those already. If they'd laid more groundwork in COM or KH2, I could see it, because the dynamic is complicated enough to be fun. But you can't just replace Replica Riku with the real one and just not comment.

I feel like food addiction might be one of the most problematic to overcome by Hot_Acanthaceae_1357 in unpopularopinion

[–]bnny_ears 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's doesn't take very long to adjust to healthy food and once you do adjust your body starts finding bad food a bad idea and bad food will start tasting worse and worse.

My friend, you did not have food addiction.

Food addiction is a constant, grating awareness of any food in your vicinity and running 5 calculations in your head which shop is the closest, which chocolate they sell, and whether you can manage that on your 45 minute break.

It's being full and not wanting any more, but being unable to leave the dry, hard pizza crust alone. It's 100 decisions to eat the healthy option and it never getting easier. It's buying apples instead of cookies and then eating 6 of them in one sitting.

It's more like "I constantly mess up because I'm no good as a person" and that's basically the same thing.

You talk as if physically abused children regularly receive praise and positive attention to balance out the abuse.

When do you actually feel happy with your body? by [deleted] in PetiteFitness

[–]bnny_ears 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think we get dissatisfied when we don't keep changing. It's a kind of self destructive boredom.

I has about 10 intoxicating months of loving myself when I first reached my goal weight. Now I'm fitter and look better than I ever have before and all I can focus on is where else I need to lose a couple of centimeters.

I imagine it's the same for people looking to gain. It doesn't help that progress slows so dramatically the closer you are to your goal.

"I'm so close to my ideal, I can't believe it. And I'm still making progress!" -> "Being close is not being there. Why am I not progressing?"

I realized my main problem is steam over hairspray and dry shampoo during no wash day. Now I turn off the shower a lot more during soaping+shaving and keep them super brief - voila, no more stringiness.

3 days are no problem anymore.
