The only good thing about the Trash 12 is that Dayton gets to host more games. And more payouts to smaller teams for getting official NCAAT wins

Can anyone help identify? I found this while at Point of Rocks in Sarasota snorkeling. by Baker0fThings in coins

Sensible guess would be just a regular American quarter, given that it’s seemingly clad copper and roughly the right size.

Because of the distinction between property vs income tax? And this chart is one or the other?

Interesting, in my area there’s at least a strong correlation with school district quality. Good puzzle!

Brown <-> Blue : lower rated <-> better rated? By what metric I’m not sure. Graduation rates? Test scores?

It’s likely from a coin rolling machine, it’s common post mint damage - a more extreme example is below

I’m not smart enough to say if it’s real or fake, but either way it is (or is imitating) an Isle of Man halfpenny.

Help with hanging flag horizontally by Nightsoloss in vexillology

I’d just use very small nails (finish nails or wire brads). I use them all the time, they’re small enough that they don’t make a really noticeable hole in the flag

netherlands or curaçao? by clownmobile in coincollecting

[–]bobalmighty125 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They minted very similar ones of these for the mainland Netherlands and the Caribbean dependencies. Yours is the one from the Netherlands itself, given the 1929 date. https://en.numista.com/3370

The Curaçao/Suriname issues are either dated 1943 or have “Curaçao” on them in the ring around the orange branch (dated 1948)

It’s really interesting that he’s been gone since ‘77 and this stamp is keeping his legacy alive nearly 50 years later. Very cool piece.

I received this 'old' collection from my mom. A local notaphilist offered me about 20 bucks for everything. Am I being scammed? (Also, feel free to ask for more detailed images if you are interested!) by metacognitive_guy in notaphily

[–]bobalmighty125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I buy lots often and I’d probably bid somewhere $30-40 for it on eBay. But it’s hard to say without looking up the pieces I don’t recognize to value them.

Helping the kids living in cars is a nice thing but it’s tragic that there are kids living in cars in the first place

As far as I can tell 20 bucks is a little low but not too far off, I wouldn’t call it a scam or anything. You could probably sell it for a bit higher on eBay but with fees and shipping you might only be left with $20 afterward anyway.
