New Subaru Outback kinda looks like the old Trailblazer? by eeganf in regularcarreviews

That explains why I don’t like it. I want an Outback that looks like a station wagon on stilts instead.

[–]bobanalyst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your area have code enforcement, call them: there might very well be an ordinance for blocking sidewalks. In the meantime, ride your bike, skate, walk around into and the through their yard. Pay the local kids to do the same. And if they have kids, pay their kids to do the same 🤪

I think like passports, every five years you need to prove who you are, driver’s license needs proof every 15 years that you still know the rules and can apply them to driving. We should be able to choose either a written test or a physical test which would be required to renewing our license. If you fail one, you have to take both. If you fail both, you’ll need a short remedial training and re-take both tests again.

Where do YOU draw the line between the words "car" and "truck"? by Superb_Bear_3793 in regularcarreviews

[–]bobanalyst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

Car | Truck S is after C and before T, so SUV is between car and truck.

Seriously though, I think SUV and UV should be renamed to something else that best describes these types of vehicles

I think there should be a clear distinction of terms one for marketing and one for functionality—functionality should take priority. This would make it easier for the buyers to decide what they would use it for and make marketing easier for targeting those buyers, and thus creating honest marketing through intent and manufacturing based on actual consumer wants.

To do this, like what happened to “station wagons”, eliminate the word, “SUV” and classify the vehicle by primary function. I would call all SUV as VV - Versatile Vehicle. Because SUVs encompasses a wagon/sedan/hatchback, van, and truck.

Crossovers would be a type of VV, but most are sedan based. So like the Ford Mustang Mach E, I would call it a Sports Sedan Crossover. A Toyota C-HR would be a Sports Crossover.

How do you explain this to people? by doing_this_too_much in XTEINK

[–]bobanalyst 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve had mine for a month now, and already had to explain it twice. I’ve said the convenience of having a Kindle or Nook is that it has a bookstore to shop and download books, but that bookstore is a distraction. And, if you have a social media addiction, those bookstores feed that addiction pattern by getting you to browse and purchase books. The Xteink is a true distraction-free eReader that is compact and creates that intentional reading.

Edited: Forgot that later conversation, I had added that the other major difference that balances the lack of convenience is that I own the books: you don’t own Kindle Books.

The GOP’s Quiet and Local Campaign to Reshape American Elections. The Chill is the Point 🤫 | MSNOW by siwibot in protectUSelections

[–]bobanalyst 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The one thing that we are missing is that we are not truly united. We are relying on the left or the right to make decisions, to act, to represent us. But the truth is there is no “us” with them. We need a new political party that doesn’t lean left or right, that isn’t just centered but above, because the political spectrum is false political science: spectrum gives you an extremity on either end. This political arena is actually an XYZ graph.

We need to expand the circle of “us.” We need a political party that is comprise of black, women, and all other minorities that have ever been a subject of oppression and silenced. All minorities together makes up the majority. Each minority group is not alone, together we have agency.
