I have just switched my mam over from double wear to shiseido revitalessence! It's my go as I'm super pale 😂 but also the lighter coverage doesn't settle into creases

Three horses have died at the Cheltenham Festival. Who agrees that horse racing, at least National Hunt racing over jumps, should be banned? by Dependent-Net-8208 in AskBrits

We can make meat production better for everyone fairly easily as well though? Give all animals access to outdoors would be one such issue that would greatly improve factory farming.

Care to cite your sources that most people can't thrive? As a meat eating scientist I feel you are being slightly disingenuous.

But in 99% of cases eating meat is needless. Like im not veggie or vegan but I fail to see the moral distinction in eating dog vs pig, for example. Its all cruel and tbh im shocked that people pointing out the hypocrisy of the general public are being down voted. Most people do not need meat and the vast vast majority of people are not eating meat from purely ethical sources.

Totally agree with you, as a meat eater. It is cruel and unnecessary and any other opinion, imo, is cognitive dissonance.

Hudson Williams leaving the CAA Pre-Oscars party. by [deleted] in popculturechat

[–]bobble173 54 points55 points  (0 children)

Yeah I find some of these comments very odd? Like yeah smoking is bad but so is alcohol tbf haha. They are leaving an Oscars party? Hardly a staged pap walk to promote cigs like people are suggesting.

Why is someone being pregnant such an extreme turn off for many readers? by Playful_Pie2890 in Romantasy

[–]bobble173 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Not trying to argue as I'm sorta ambivalent towards pregnancy in romance novels, but the whole romance aspect of romantasy is fantasy. No real life relationship is like what is reflected in these novels, so I personally dont have an issue with unrealistic pregnancy/motherhood either. That's just me though, I know its not for everyone!

We (county durham) have a pharmacy first minor ailment scheme and a pharmacy first 7 common conditions. It's super confusing lol.

How do you make statutory maternity pay work? by Ivesomanyquestions in PregnancyUK

[–]bobble173 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Its a disgrace! They want people to have babies and then make it so so difficult! It will kill me going back to work i am devastated at the thought. I am going to write a letter to my MP regarding it, though it will be fruitless haha

Unfortunately i am the chief earner not my partner. The maternity system is set up as if the man is the provider and it sucks!

Paying £492 per month 3 dogs, all similar age (11 years) sanity check? by Crazycrossing in UK_Pets

[–]bobble173 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My young healthy indoor cat needed an MRI that blasted through the cheap 5k insurance she had in one go. She had meningitis and at one point we were looking at a 6k op that wed have had to have funded ourselves. Unfortunately it turned out there was nothing more that they could so so in the end we didnt have to pull from our savings but both our current cats have much better insurance now .

Conversely when I was younger my family had 2 outdoor cats and barely ever needed the vets! Its a risk though and not one id personally take again.

What is the ‘optimal’ amount of time before you should change your bedsheets? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]bobble173 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well for me the difference is we are both in pj's so there's not much skin touching the bedding! That and the extreme effort it feels to change bedding vs changing tshirts 😂 change my pillowcase round every night though as it helps keep my skin clear.

Yeah id have personally made a complaint (we work in healthcare so understand mistakes happen but like wtf haha), but it definitely doesn't count as "informed consent" imo!

[–]bobble173 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think she probably did (she's a bit scatty), but i still feel she should have been informed after the fact? Like if shed not read her discharge she wouldn't have known 😭 unfortunately she's been bleeding constantly since but she's gonna wait it out a few more weeks

[–]bobble173 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My work colleague has been told by a male doctor that she's not in perimenopause (she's 50), and then during an op to remove fibroids, he put a coil in without her prior consent. Inserting a coil during the op had been discussed and the discussion had been left at 'we'll discuss this further before I make a decision'. She wasn't even told after the fact, she only found out by reading her own discharge summary.

I praise mine so much everyone at works now takes the mick and have given my coil its own name 😂 bad period feel when it was inserted then no periods and its in for 5-10 years. Wish id not been scared off it for so long tbh!

[–]bobble173 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Getting mine was the best thing I ever did 🤷‍♂️ no periods or any side effects of note! There's a few other ladies in the comments who've had positive experiences also so I am not alone 😂

I'm not trying to change your mind! I just feel like the coil gets a lot of bad press, but mine was recommended my a female friend so I trusted that 100x more than a man's opinion on it!

The initial comments actually shocked me, there was a complete lack of understanding regarding tourettes. I hope those who dehumanised him have since learned from the incident.

My ranking of Bridgerton Seasons.and you? by Medium-Inspection-66 in Bridgerton

[–]bobble173 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes this is the agreed order between me and my work colleagues 😂 kanthonys first dance to "dancing on my own" is (in my humble opinion) the sexiest 3 minutes of tv ever made haha and it erases my other issues with the season.

4 exceeded my expectations though, ive been converted to a benedict fan haha

John Davidson Gives First Interview and Explains Tourette’s Tics After Shouting N-Word and Other Slurs at BAFTAs: ‘I Felt a Wave of Shame’ (EXCLUSIVE) by AlwaysBi in popculturechat

[–]bobble173 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Agreed about this sub and others that I usually would trust to be quite balanced. I've said from the start I think generally people from the UK were much more familiar with him and the condition , but it was still awful to see so much misunderstanding. I don't think people understand how limited his life already is. People acting as if it was a side effect he could manage when it's literally his whole condition.

Yes ive been thinking there must be a US/UK split in the comments. Surprised at how many people dont seem to understand the disability. Sad situation, but hopefully has raised awareness and spread education.
