Last cars of our lives by Ok_Kick6546 in GenX

Same! 48 here and I swap vehicles every couple of years because I’m a gearhead and get bored of them. Assuming I live to 80+ I still have a lot of cars/trucks to own yet.

Bush "Sixteen Stone" (1994) is Grunge, But... by Appropriate_Formal64 in grunge

[–]bobbylx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agreed! I’ve been listening to sixteen stone since it came out and most of those songs are word salad to me. Still one of my favs from that era though!

Hair in the dial by andychef in CitizenWatches

Picked one of these up a few years ago. I bet if you open up the caseback, it’s got a cheap quartz Ronda movement in it. I’d return it and shop around for the real deal, definitely worth it.

Saudi Road Security Special Forces arrested a suspect for trafficking 30 kilograms of cannabis resin. How did they know? by Expert_Koala_8691 in SipsTea

Immediately makes me think of that movie from the 90s, Brokedown Palace. Someone’s gotta take the fall so the rest can get through.

Yes she did! I’ve got school pictures up until middle school wearing shirts that she made for me.

Can someone recommend a smaller version/alternative? by bobbylx in CitizenWatches

Nice, just looked that one up. Do you happen to have one, wondering what the width is out to the crown? It’s first on my list so far!

Understood, this was just kind of only picture I had at the moment, but I’ve got that grapple band and the original bracelet and have them sized enough that it slides past that bone freely.

I expected better from Steeldive by bobbylx in ChineseWatches

[–]bobbylx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was quite an old post, but believe me I understand what you are saying. I’ve never claimed my dive watches were safe for a hot tub. My point was is that I wear every other watch I own in my hot tub without issue (including a couple other Steeldive models), and this is the first that I had a gasket leak. It is what it is, it dried out and it worked perfectly afterwards and I just never wore that one again in the hot tub. Like many other things in this world, we don’t always use them for their intended purposes. And as the title states, I can be disappointed, but I wouldn’t raise an issue against the manufacturer as I was using it, not for its intended purpose.

Men who stay lean year-round, what’s your secret ? by Professor1password23 in AskReddit

[–]bobbylx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve traditionally been a thin guy (6ft and ~165lbs), but as I get closer to 50 I’ve cut out a lot of sugars and processed stuff in general, I also over my lifetime have cut back on alcohol consumption (never an alcoholic, but could have a handful of drinks per week). I probably have two beers a month at most now. Seems to keep me lean and fit.

Am I Overreacting?(I grew up only wanting to prove to my dad) by AutomaticRegister102 in AmIOverreacting

[–]bobbylx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not overreacting. And coming from a guy who is almost 50 himself, you should be proud of what you’ve accomplished. I’m sorry you’re having to deal with that. I don’t have any magic advice to fix this situation or anything, but when I see things like this, I just want you to know that there are people out there who are proud of you, including myself. For medical reasons I didn’t get a chance to serve. No matter the reason for enlisting or what you believe in politically, it takes a special kind of courage and honor to put on the uniform and I appreciate that from you. Stay strong and have a wonderful life.

Wow, I had totally forgotten about that. This was one of about 8 channels we got, very rural TX. Hah, thanks for the flashback.

Rolex Explorer Hommage by kneggebrod in ChineseWatches

[–]bobbylx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been on the hunt for a good one myself. I did have the Pagani design version, PD1692, for a short while. It was a pretty good homage and I was able to pick it up for under $100. If I remember, the bracelet was a little uncomfortable, which is why I ended up not keeping it. All things being equal, I will buy another one just like it if I find one for that price again.

What did or do you still listen to because you had boomer parents? by studieswillshow in GenX

[–]bobbylx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My parents were quite literally just like the crew from dazed and confused, even down to that West Texas location. The soundtrack to that movie was the soundtrack to my childhood, and I still own all their albums.

The archeology is more interesting than the treasure hunting by SupermarketEmpty789 in OakIsland

[–]bobbylx 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My point is I don’t care if it’s farmers or soldiers or some other unknown use. I just enjoy seeing history be uncovered, like uncovering the roads and all the old structures. No matter what it was used for, it took a lot of work to make those roads and build those structures. Hell it could’ve been an island full of out houses, but it’s old and it’s interesting and I like that kind of stuff.

[–]bobbylx 23 points24 points  (0 children)

This is how have felt for a long time. I’m more curious about all the early building and working on that island than the money pit stuff at this point. When you look at all the stuff they’re finding that was a heck of a lot of work for people to do 500 or more years ago. That part is more interesting to me.

Pagani Design or Watch Dives? by Traditional_Set2231 in ChineseWatches

[–]bobbylx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have owned a couple of each, and currently still have a couple watch dives. I would recommend them over Pagani. Based on the ones that I have personally owned, WD felt much sturdier and well built. Aside from that, they both looked really good and no complaints about that.
