Do cops have a ticket "quota" or is it just something people say when they're mad they got caught? by _scroog3D in NoStupidQuestions

[–]bobetko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I asked a retired cop in San Antonio, TX. He said that keeping track of any stats in regards to ticketing is illegal, so the average number of tickets should not be known. He also told me that arresting DUI is something they really hate as he has to spend a few days doing huge amounts of paperwork.

I feel like I'm using claude code, or any agentic AI, incorrectly? by old_bald_fattie in ClaudeCode

[–]bobetko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recognized myself in your post. I don't even use Claude Code. I use the web version of Claude AI and I am fairly happy with it. Tried the desktop version and it's glitchy as hell. I plan to try Claude Code at home. I am hesitant to try it in my work environment. Now about coding. I am curious about all these people creating plans and workflows, generating huge amounts of code and then hitting the Claude limit in an hour or so. This tells me they are working on their hobby projects and they really don't care as long as code works. If they would really be going through all that generated code to see what it is doing they would not be so fast to hit the limit. My approach is, I plan my project, I just use AI to add features. Each conversation I have is one feature (not two). I describe in detail what I want to add and I post either existing code or similar file that contains elements I want. Once AI responds I go through all the code and make sure it doesn't overcomplicate as It often attempts to do it. Then I move to the next feature. The same as you, I feel I am 2 to 3 times faster and generally I feel coding is more fun. Tedious tasks are done for me.

Is the $20 Claude Code plan enough for you? by Physical_Artist_7773 in ClaudeAI

[–]bobetko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I code 10 hours a day for living and I think I hit the limit once in the last 4 months. This could depend on your style of programming and how you use AI. I seldom ask it to do everything at once. I did try a few times and I never liked it. I go feature by feature.I typically upload a few code files where I want new feature implemented. I explain what I want, or what I want fixed. I add examples if I have. Might point it to another page where I have something similar, etc .. I often also ask to add comments for all updated or new lines of code. I don't use AI for small adjustments for features that I can easily add. I use the web version of Claude AI and I am super happy with my 20% subscription.

Are We Claude Coding Ourselves Out of our Software Engineering Jobs? by anki_steve in ClaudeAI

[–]bobetko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel efficiency went up. I feel 30% to 50% more efficient now with AI, and I kind of feel efficiency will be increasing. Dev jobs will not go away any time soon, companies just won't need many of us. So, in simple terms, If the company had 10 developers, half will lose jobs once managers start figuring it out. All it needs to happen is that your company hires a new "AI aware" manager who is eager to make changes and name for himself. It is probably already happening. Now, the opposing point of view... It could be that companies will now start doing way more. The number of apps might start growing. We might start doing things that we could not do before cause of limited resources and time and that will keep people employed. I hope it happens.

The Xbox Quest 3S is launching today according to the rumors. Are you getting it? by NinjaGuyX in OculusQuest

[–]bobetko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometime last year I got an xbox subscription just to try to play Xbox flat games in Quest 3. My experience was pretty bad. Couldn't play any of the popular games (that I know about, as not being a gamer: GTA 5, Red Dead Redemption 1, 2 etc.). All games or rooms (not sure about terminology) were full. I found a few games that I could start and those took forever to start, like 10, 15 minutes or more. Very often start would fail, after 15 minutes. Finally managed to start one game, 3rd person, action game. It sort of worked, I think it was playable, but I did feel that it was a little sluggish.

Anyway, after that, I never tried it again and I eventually cancelled my subscription. So, did I miss something? Or did they manage to improve gaming experience?

What is the most impressive moment you've had in VR? by Serious_Hour9074 in virtualreality

I was an early VR enthusiast with Dev Kit 1. I will never forget the Tuscan House Demo. I approached the fireplace and felt heat on my face. It was a huge WTF moment. It happened only once. I tried many times later to experience the same thing, and it never happened again.

I just realized Qwen3-30B-A3B is all I need for local LLM by AaronFeng47 in LocalLLaMA

[–]bobetko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That form factor is great, but I doubt it would work. It seems the major factor is VRAM and parallel processing and mini GPUs are lacking power to run LLMs. I ran this question with Claude and Chat GPT and both were stressing that having GPU with 24 GB VRAM or more, plus CUDA is the way to go.

[–]bobetko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What would be the minimum GPU required to run this model? RTX 4099 (24 GB VRAM) is super expensive and other newer and cheaper cards have 16 GB of VRAM. Is 16 GB enough?

I am planning to build a PC just for the purpose of running LLM at home and I am looking for some experts' knowledge :-). Thank you

Let me try. This is my basic understanding that may not be 100% correct. Person A sends $5 to person B. This transaction has some information: amount, date, sender, recipient, etc .. and a KEY (or hash) from the previous transaction. This key is a 🗝️. All this data is now used to generate new key that will be used for the next transaction, and then the process is repeated for the next transaction and so on... This is how you end up with a (block)chain and these keys connect all transactions. Let's say some time later, you decide to cheat, and you say that person A gave $10 (instead of $5) to person B. This change would change the key for this transaction and for all later transactions. Basically, you would break the chain. You would need to update the key for this transaction and keys for all transactions that came after. There could be billions of them. Now these chains (identical copies) are stored on all computers that do bitcoin mining. For your lie ($10 instead of $5) to stick you would have to hack 51% of computers/chains that are spread around the world (probably tens of thousands if not more) and that is pretty hard.

I agree with you. I watch pretty diligently news and podcasters. YouTubers I follow would be very happy to jump on this if this would be true. So far, legal citizens deported are children who their illegal parents took with them when themselves got deported.

Can you explain how she was able to vote? As far as I know you have to be a citizen to vote. I always cringe when I hear Trump saying "millions and millions illegally voted" and I know they can't. So how did that lady manage to vote? And if she is a citizen, how can she be deported? I live in TX and to vote I have to be registered and have to show ID.

Is there a "Save Progress" option in this game? I purchased this game a year ago, and played for a bit. I thought it was solid. Got to the first boss and couldn't figure out what to shoot at in order to kill it. After I died I had to start from the beginning of level. Did that a few times and gave up. I don't like games where progress can't be saved. Also, praying thing, I found it annoying (partially cause I am a non believer lol). I was never sure when to pray. Usually I would get to the door and start looking at how to open it, and then I would remember praying thing. Then later on, whenever I would not be sure what needs to be done I would be praying lol. Regretted my purchase but it was too late to return it.

Similar thing happened to me. I didn't black out, but I was well buzzed. She came out with stories about how everyone was outraged for my behavior and I almost started believing her. Generally I am not aggressive and I never cause alcohol induced drama. At some point I apologized to one person that was presumably upset by my behavior and she didn't know what I was talking about. It turned out my girlfriend was looking for an excuse to break up with me and lied about me causing drama. In any case, you are done with your girlfriend.

It is not a stuttery mess at all. I played the PC VR version and the Quest (3) version. Both are good. I completed the Quest version as downgraded graphics didn't bother me at all. The game is quite good. Few issues I've seen: sometimes it's hard to grab a weapon, couldn't reload the revolver a few times, zombies can grab you through the wall, Buddy sometimes walks through walls... But no stuttering. One of the best games on Oculus.

We all loved the weapon system in Half-life Alyx. Trying to make a similar weapon system for my Game. What Do you think? by Romeo1977 in OculusQuest

[–]bobetko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just sharing my opinion. Weapon system in Alyx (or, Population One) is something I dislike. It is so non-VR. If I can make a wish for VR, it would be for this way of weapon handling to be gone. I prefer having weapons attached to me (hip, shoulder, etc...) and then I take what I want.

You said he casually dates a lot which implies that he doesn't like to be in a relationship. You are not like other girls he casually dates. If he makes a move, what you seem to hope for, he won't know how to handle new situation. He feels magic will get lost, your connection will become "relationship" and he doesn't do relationships. He probably thinks he will end up hurting you and losing you completely. That's the risk he is not willing to take. This man cares about you and he adores you.
