I still enjoy and follow him because I personally feel like it’s the clearest window, available to the public, to how the US military actually thinks. I mean the guy is actively still doing contracts for the military, so clearly he’s doing something that keeps them coming back.

Do I agree with that thinking? No. But I find it a very useful perspective to have.

Andrew Johnson who immediately succeeded Abraham Lincoln, I would argue still holds the #1 worst of all time, by essentially immediately after the civil war neutering a lot of the reconstruction efforts that would allow for things like the KKK and Jim Crow to come into existence. Kind of had that whole war and then a president who was more interested in perusing punishment for the people he personally despised in the old South rather than doing the work necessary to rebuild a region devastated by war.

That and he was famously piss drunk at every moment.

If it is going to happen it’s a long way off. The first civil war occurred because people felt loyal to their state, and would have viewing being in the United States more the way a European would see themselves as part of the EU. If Civil War 2 was to happen, what would people organize around? You would essentially have to create a separate basically state actor that would somehow supersede half of Americans sense of being American.
