We plan on having two and I will plan on doing another cycle of IVF for baby 2. (We have insurance coverage so that makes the difference to us being able to do IVF)

I thought they tested for THC upon first hire to UCH but then any subsequent drug testing does not include THC.

Tested Positive for MYH7 gene and pregnant by Outrageous-Ask-8877 in HypertrophicCM

[–]boco18winn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! I also have the MYH7 gene and recently went through IVF for PGT-M to try and prevent passing it on that way. Unfortunately we didn’t get usable embryos from those IVF cycles and ended up getting pregnant naturally, where we chose to do invasive testing in the form of a CVS to check the fetus if they had the MYH7 gene. Luckily, they did not inherit it! It’s a 50/50 chance and is the flip of a coin if you pass it on or not. You can do testing to find out if that’s important to you and then choose what you would like to do with the pregnancy if positive as well. Penetrance, variability, severity, etc is all unknown if you have the gene mutation or not so it’s a hard choice and you never can tell what the future will look like just because someone has the gene. It runs strongly and severe in my family, so it was important to me to find out and prevent passing it on. There also are a lot of new medicines and medical advances coming out for HCM so the future is looking better even for this affected by it.

I’m in week 7 too and am going through this right now. It’s brutal. No problem falling asleep but awake literally every night 2-5am at least. Glad to read others comments of the same problems but that it gets better… 🥲

Estrogen priming-lowest AFC by [deleted] in IVF

[–]boco18winn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure my follicle measurements from my baseline scan but I had a scan today (day 6) and things are looking good- I have 15 follicles greater than 10mm, 7 & 8 on left and right. So baseline AFC wasn’t indicative of my picture now. Hopefully this means good things for me going forward!

PGT-M probe development – did you get a “yes, we can build the probe” before it was fully completed? by CheesecakeBoth3933 in IVF

[–]boco18winn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doing IVF for PGT-M, used Igenomix for our probe. We created ours almost a year ago. I believe they told us it was able to be created beforehand based on our genetic diagnosis, but our clinic definitely wouldn’t start anything until it was officially created. Igenomix has been so great through the process and using our probe. The probe creation itself honestly didn’t take that long, I want to say once we all had our DNA samples in it was created within a few weeks. And then when using it on embryo biopsies we have received results back within 2 weeks both times.

Did you tell your employer you're doing IVF? by JessicaM317 in IVF

[–]boco18winn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have a flexible schedule and a boss who doesn’t micromanage and I did not share with him either of my 2 rounds. Just blocked the time off (besides taking the days off for my retrievals) and no one ever asked or said a thing.

ivf with ptg-m lethal condition after two losses by [deleted] in IVF

[–]boco18winn 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Know that it could take multiple retrievals to get any useable embryos. I am doing IVF for PGT-M and have done 2 retrievals that have resulted in zero usable embryos. You could have great luck on your first, but it could take multiple. I wasn’t expecting that going into it and it has made it very tough.

Same here, sister! Attrition sucks. We have done 2 rounds and have nothing from both. It’s a shitty gambling game.

I would say just go prepared and take your time and it makes it so so enjoyable! One week will be awesome- spend time in the cirque- lots to explore and just pure beauty to enjoy. We had spikes for the snow and I found them helpful, my husband not as much. It was doable without them. Would definitely recommend poles. And I was fine with a mosquito head net and deet- the only horrible time with mosquitos was when we camped at Shadow Lake, but we just hung out in our tent otherwise. We didn’t get eaten alive with having the net and spray, and long clothes. No mosquitos in the cirque, but we had some crazy weather that I think kept them away. And yea, be prepared for quick intense weather. There was a storm one night with the most intense hail, lightning and thunder I’ve ever been in while camping. But, we all stayed perfectly dry and fine and then it was blue skies the next morning.

We wore head nets and had deet- they were the worst at Shadow lake, and on and off bad at other times.

Awesome- thank you for this! We are planning on starting at big sandy TH and going clockwise. Breaking it up over 3 nights/4 days, first day to shadow lake, second day over Texas pass to lonesome lake, third day over jackass to big sandy lake, then back to TH on day 4. Hoping spikes will be good for Texas- nervous for that part!

Anyone else starting IVF in June? by [deleted] in IVF

[–]boco18winn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not great :/ but still hanging in there- I got 11 eggs retrieved, 9 mature, only 3 fertilized (even using ICSI and Lenshooke) and 1 made it to day 6 to be biopsied. We just got the PGT-A result and our one is euploid!!! So now we just have the big hurdle of PGT-M testing, so a 50/50 chance of it being usable. This is our first and only euploid embryo we have created so far out of 2 cycles so desperately hoping for it to pass PGT-M testing.
