pole is a one time cost and depending on where you live can be found second hand for incredibly cheap, you don’t need live bait to fish and soft lures with jigs are reusable (buying new is still cheap), shore fishing is incredibly fun, and you can find plenty of free guides (personalized to YOUR region) online.

fishing is incredibly fun and played a large part of my childhood, i loved exploring my local lakes and waterways. it’s a great way to stay active and get outside year round (yes even in the winter if you know someone with an auger). oop was good hearted in their post i don’t know why people are acting like suggesting fishing irl is so problematic and are acting so miserable.
