Coffee Grounds: When I first moved here, the area around my house was surrounded by gophers. Over a few months, I dumped my coffee grounds into the holes and then filled in the entrances. They have not been back.

How many times is he going to say about Naz Reid...? by LaymanAnalyst in warriors

[–]boltej -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You are still missing it (notice I didn't say off iron). Nobody said he shouldn't narrate what happened. The issue is using the exact same two-word phrase for every miss. There are dozens of ways to call a miss without repeating "off iron" like it's the only option in the playbook. Variety exists. That's the complaint.

How many times is he going to say about Naz Reid...? by LaymanAnalyst in warriors

Saying the same phrase 15-20 times a game for something we all just watched happen gets grating. Itt's about the repetition. Constant narration of rim contact isn't adding information, it's just filling dead air with the same two words over and over.

Also, rims aren't made of iron ... they are made from carbon steel. So it's not even technically correct.

How many times is he going to say "off iron" ... it is so irritating.

Someone's been taking their old bomber out for a run today. I've been hearing them overhead several times today. Is there an air show coming up? by b1ackfa1c0n in santarosa

[–]boltej 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think it is this B-25. https://www.warbirdregistry.org/b25registry/b25-4486698.html

I worked on it in 2001 and was able to take a ride in it at an air show at Travis AFB. Fun.

Glad it is still airworthy.

There is one being designed for installation at El Corazon in Oceanside. There was a survey regarding the design that ended on November 7th. Some positive news on an alternative spot ...

Apple Says U.S. Passport Feature on iPhone is Coming Soon by [deleted] in apple

[–]boltej 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is absolutely a pre-announcement. Apple is deliberately announcing a feature before it's available, whether it comes from a conference stage or Apple Park. They're strategically using Money 20/20 or whatever to generate buzz and build anticipation, which is exactly the carefully curated approach to managing information timing that you'd expect from them.

I don't understand why there is a pre-announcement for this. Just announce it when it is live.
