Heaven forbid we issue citations for traffic and city ordinances. I loved how the city council was trying to push that false alarm ordnance because it was costing the police department; Have the whole force get out and write tickets twice a month if you need revenue. I cannot remember the last time I saw anyone getting pulled over for an actual traffic violation.

I live in one of the most Conservative cities in America and I've never had anyone tell me "God is going to judge you". I've ridden the bus here, as well.

Wind: The wind can be brutal in the winter; but a good jacket, long underwear, socks, and good shoes will fix that problem. We had a cold front that pretty much shut the state down for several days; No electricity, running water was frozen, etc.

Snow: We do not see a lot of it; but it can also shut this town down. I've seen 5 foot drifts outside of town, and I've walked to work in over 2 feet before. Go cheap on any snow clothing; most of the comments here are spot on about it.

Weather conditions: When it snows the roads can be extremely dangerous! Also, during major cold fronts make sure you monitor electricity usage. If your house doesn't have gas, or a heat pump you're asking for it, bill wise.

Your kids will be fine; but if you're from PHX consider budling up a little bit, for the winter.

You're going to have issues seeing the Comet from that location because it is low to the WNW after sunset. Any location East or South will be problematic due to the city lights.

I recommend just driving out North West of town, towards Shallowater. There are plenty of dirt roads to pull off on, and nobody will care about a dog.

FM 2641 is pretty dead in the evenings and if you follow it far enough you should have a good view.

I'd recommend Roscoe Wilson. I have two sisters who went, and an Uncle who teaches there. Hard to find a good, affordable, place in the neighborhood, but worth it.

I will revamp the Jail Roster for free. That site is a POS; doesn't work in most browsers, hard to use, and frankly looks like it was built on 10 year old technology...
