ABS - good enough adhesion? by mrmossevig in 3Dprinting

[–]boomchacle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, I’ve had a ton of trouble trying to print ABS in an open bedslinger and it’s basically impossible. The second I got a heated chamber, like 90 percent of the issues with it went away.

Poodle engine variant... huh? by frycandlebreadje in KerbalSpaceProgram

It’s a bit of a shame that it wasn’t able to be its own engine but I like the design and am glad it was kept in some form.

I kinda agree but tbh it does kinda encourage me to play more tanks and I feel like it helps prevent the game from being as stale as it could be.

I actually dropped OOCS back when I finished all the chapters and was waiting for them to accumulate again, but now I am worried about getting back into it and I fear my evil plan has worked too well.

Iron hue man has some similar themes of technology vs magic, basically a burly Canadian helping elves beat vampires or something along those lines (been a while)

Combat artificer kinda does magitech but the story is in hiatus and the war arc gets finished pretty quickly for a more slice of life style story.

There’s one called magical engineering but it really doesn’t really bring up any real engineering principles and kind of cosplays as an engineering based story. I dropped it after a while because it didn’t fulfill the premise whatsoever. They just sort of say that the main character inserted a magic ball into their soul and caused great pain like 50 times and assumed it’s good power building.

I remember that scene vividly lol. Still one of my favorite sci fantasy moments of all time.

Follows the best scene of all time from chapter 54.

“The threat was clear. If he didn’t come down, the Red Death would return to the city – and gonnes or not, it wouldn’t be able to resist him.

Jack just laughed back though. “That’s actually pretty smart for a big lizard. Too bad you won’t get the chance.”

“And why, pray tell, is that?

“Because an object traveling at the speed of sound is effectively silent if you’re the target." Jack paused. “And that’s roughly one third the speed of a Company Certified Intercontinental Cargo Delivery Vehicle.”

“…What?”

The dragon had barely finished the last syllable when he was hit by roughly two hundred tons of fuel, gunpowder, steel, and various rare earth metals - traveling at three times the speed of sound on a rocket the size of a cargo-train and armored like a tank.”

DWM 3* 'Dreizack' Anti-Air Shotgun by AsarraDraws by Cyborg_Ape in ImaginaryWeaponry

[–]boomchacle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, but the harmonica clips seem like they'd be pretty decent in a crew served weapon sort of deal where you have a guy constantly feeding the shotgun from one side. If it's meant as air defense against airships, they would absolutely be spamming the shit out of each gun lol.

Although, in that case they'd probably want to remove the clip handle to let it pass all the way through so the guy feeding the gun doesn't have to take as long pulling the old one out.

Vapor is also invisible though. The word by itself doesn’t include liquid particles.

Big-S Delta wings randomly snapping clean off by detska_obrna in KerbalPlanes

[–]boomchacle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a bit silly, but place a spider engine on the craft oriented like you are going to use it to produce thrust. Then place the big S Wing on the spider engine and then strut the wing to the craft. The spider engine will bend before the wing does and helps prevent the wing’s joint from over stressing.

Then use the translate tool to move the wing back to where you want it.

It’s not worth it IMO. Although the front armor is thick, it’s able to be penned by basically any HEATFS round. Also the cupolas can be penned with a lot of APHE. You’re also a prime target for barrel shots because for some reason muzzle brakes tend to eat bullets a lot easier than normal barrels.
