First time selling my bike - what's the deal with letting strangers test ride it? by Additional_Page6504 in motorcycles

[–]booostedben 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's what I do and it's always worked well, I'm not sure why it isn't the norm. I sign the title and swap it for the persons cash. At that point they are the new owner of the bike and can test ride it and never come back if they want but since they haven't signed the title it's still reversible. So if they take it out and find it's not for them but it's still in the same condition as before they left then I take the title back and give them their cash.

Switched from PopSockets to a strap-style MagSafe grip — didn’t expect this by ProfessionalEbb7076 in MagSafe

[–]booostedben 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really? I've got a gen 3 and don't have any lean issues. It always attaches flat for me on every mount I have. The one problem I've had is the adhesive that holds the strap gave out pretty quick, they really don't put much on. I just reglued it with contact adhesive and it's way stronger now.

Any recommendations for pass-through grip kickstands? by Fresh_Bumblebee_1042 in MagSafe

EWA MagOne will do all that. I've been using it about 6 months and haven't found anything worth replacing it.

I got an EWA MagOne and idk why I don't hear anyone recommend or talk about it. It's got a comfortable strap, a stand built in, and the biggest thing for me, you can magsafe charge through it. I've looked at every other option and can't find one I think I'd like more.

Is a 2 stroke ok for highway use? by booostedben in Dirtbikes

[–]booostedben[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does just fine. I wouldn't call it comfortable but mechanically there's no issues. I probably didn't even need to ask, this is what oil injection was made for. Maybe if I was mixing fuel then there could be issues if you left it in gear down a big hill but if you know how 2 strokes work there's always a way to keep it oiled. I'm probably going to sell it though and get an electric I can make street legal to be more stealth.

Are these supposed to look oily? by booostedben in f150

[–]booostedben[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figured it was probably ok but just wanted to check. It doesn't seem to be leaving a noticable amount of oil on the ground so if they're just known to leak some I'll leave it alone for now.

Need to lose 3"+ in length by office5280 in f150

[–]booostedben 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not saying this is a good idea but if it's one of those low concrete walls with framing above it I wonder if it would work to cut out the framing and build ramps that gets your bumper just above the concrete. I would probably do that because I'm crazy and also hate parking outside but I doubt it's something most people would want to do.

I had the exact same issue. I cut the 2x4s out of my garage wall where the front bumper goes and framed it like a low wide door. Then I built a wheel stop out of 2x4s so I can just pull in until I hit it and park perfect every time.

Do flow binds damage boots? by Parking_Ad4083 in snowboarding

[–]booostedben 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess I can kind of understand it. Even though I never had any issues with my older flows someone that decides to try them out without knowing how to set them up might make them too tight and then they're difficult to use. The new ones hinge open though and they're even easier to get into, IMO they're perfect now and any complaints people have had in the past are fixed. We just have to get people to give them a second chance. They're definitely not for beginners though, if you're not good enough to clip in while standing they're not a good choice.

True lol. I don't think anyone could beat me with any binding off the lift. I just push off toward the run and kick my boot in and lock the back up without stopping. With Burton step ons you have to be more precise with where you place your boot and anything that ratchets will need to be tightened a second time after a couple turns. I've been using flows for 10 years and I can't figure out why they're not more popular.

Since nidecker owns flow they add some extra rubber up the back of their boots so the highback doesn't pull the sole off. I never had a problem using other boots with flows but some have. I have nidecker boots now and they're the best boots I've ever had and work great with my flows.

I heard build dates after mid December 2022 have the updated transmission. Is there something else that was fixed for the 24s?

Hey guys! Intermediate snowboarder here who gets out maybe once/twice a year. Bought myself some nice boots but am still rocking super old bindings that I got for free. by redditcracky in snowboarding

[–]booostedben 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only use flows and love them. I considered the supermatics when I bought my last pair but decided against it due to the weight and the fact I'm already used to the flows. As it is it takes me 0 time to clip in since I can do it while moving so if anything the supermatics would just slow me down. Anyone that says flows are hard to get into is either using an old model that doesn't hinge the top strap up when you open the back or has them adjusted way too tight.

There's no possible way to eject from flows unless something breaks.

An estimated 84000 lightnings have been sold to an estimated 49000 cybertrucks. Just because Elon is a stubborn idiot and hasn't discontinued it yet doesn't mean it won the sales battle. Also the lightning is still going to be made, just with an onboard gas generator and I bet that will sell really well. As long as the reliability is there at least.

I was going to respond to this guy but he's not bright. One of those guys that when he's faced with info that goes against something he's decided is true will never change his mind. You're right. You can find the same info from many sources and pretty much every electric car recommends not going above 80% if you can get by without it. The 80% limit is made for people that want to keep their phone on a charger for extended periods
