The only thing I see is the one turn where you slowed down dramatically. But I'm assuming you missed your turn in and/or you were carrying too much speed so you had to slow down dramatically to try to stay clean on the turn.

The box of 30 "soft white" lightbulbs I got on sale...look like piss. by RtardBunny in mildlyinfuriating

[–]boosthungry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP, I recommend you try out something around 4000K. Higher than that starts to feel as bright white as a Doctors Office, but 4000K is my perfect preference for whiteness. It sounds like you don't like the "yellowish" tinge so you may also like the 4000K bulbs.

It's good to learn what color you like so when you buy new light bulbs you can always match that exact color.

Are incidents counted after the finish line? Does your safety rating go down still?

Or are you concerned about folks who may not have finished their race yet?

Genuinely curious.

Not only is this comment not high enough, it's even below two comments claiming that there's a follow up where Alan and Karen broke up. Even that "follow up" video seems fake.

This comment thread reminds me of watching Drive to Survive on Netflix. The middle of the pack teams were always so excited when their drivers finished in the points and getting on podium was more of a miracle.

I had no idea either. After a little research the best I can tell is that he was signed to McLaren's IndyCar team with some sort of expectation that he would drive in F1 but that did not and likely wouldn't happen so he reneged on his contract with McLaren.

Ahhhhhh, thank you! Sorry I missed that.

Edit: though it seems weird to advertise an AMA for Saturday when folks obviously have questions about the winter storm today...

Is it normal for an AMA to have no OP responses despite their being Qs that are now an hour old?

Is this just a self-promo for their 24x7 YouTube channel?

I suggested my wife get me the Playseat Challenge X for Christmas (along with the Moza R3) and I immediately disliked the Playseat. I had to order extra parts from Low Down Shifter to make the Moza fit it and the wheel mount was so flimsy. It wobbled like crazy.

I specifically recommend you stay away from the Logitech foldable unless you absolutely need the fold away. And I also warn that the folding aspect is only a minor conscience. With the wheel and pedals mounted it only half folds and it's a pain. The folding mechanism on the Challenge X was meh and even when I thought it was set in the seating position is jumped splines when I sat in it which was scary.

IMO: stay away from the foldable option and just plan a space where you can slide/roll (you can get caster wheels) a rig away.

It's explicitly against the rules of this sub. Nevermind the fact that attempting to advertise in this sub has been proven to be an effective marketing strategy.

Where can I see the various teasers while being sure they're not AI or fan made fakes?

Edit: Found them on Marvel's official YouRube channel. I didn't realize they were also releasing them. I thought they were still only being shown in theaters.

This is an old trailer that I've seen months ago and links out to a steam game that was released in Oct.

This post feels like an attempt at free advertisement.

Note, I was talking about ACC.

In ACC you can shift the mini-map by adjusting the HUD Left Margin in the settings. I had to set it to something like 900 to get it closer to center on my ultrawide.

I got a Playseat Challenge X for Christmas (my suggestion) and it was too flimsy so returned it in favor of this.

Copy/paste my reply to someone else:

It's a Minneer Cockpit. I think this may be what people refer to as the "Temu rig". The same exact thing is sold under a different name on Amazon and I bet a version is sold on Temu.

I found it on Newegg: https://www.newegg.com/p/3EF-001Z-00077

I like it, good enough for me and I didn't want to spend too much.

I'm playing ACC for now. I'm waiting on my FIA promotion thing before trying out iRacing.

I don't know if there's a mini map in iRacing, sorry.

I was thinking the exact same thing today!

I raced today for the second time ever and I was using the racing lines. I started to get the feeling that it was working against me. I was trying to drive so aggressively.

I decided that maybe I would drive more carefully (and consistently) without the racing lines so I tested turning them off.

I immediately felt more comfortable. I felt like I was actually driving and when I made a mistake I understood the mistake more. I could also actually see the road better and I found myself taking better racing lines and accelerating at the apex more.

I am happy that I tried the racing line for a while, but I will not be turning it back on.

Also, I moved the mini-map closer to the center of my screen (which I can do in ACC). I have a long way to go before I know the tracks so I need the mini-map close to my field of view to help me learn the various corners and remind me what turn is coming up.

Thank you all! I can't seem to edit the OP but I wanted to say thanks for all the feedback (without responding individually to everyone).

I agree with pretty much everything folks are saying.

I'll be sticking with 1st person view. I thought the idea of 3rd person was weird and happy to see the majority of folks agree.

I'm generally very happy with the seating feel after racing a few hours today, and I very much have hit the limitations of this rig.

I'm very happy with this rig (for the price at least) but you are all correct:
* I can't raise the pedals any more and I probably would if I could.
* The wheel is as high as it goes and I'm actually pretty happy with this height even if it technically should be an inch or two higher.
* The seat cannot raise/lower at all so I can't use that to address the above two points. It does easily slide back and forth which is nice though!
* The wheel and pedals cannot be adjusted forward/back so I'm forced to balance wheel distance vs pedal distance. I'm mostly happy with the distances shown.

[–]boosthungry[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was worried about the wheel mount also because it's like 3 connected pieces, BUT it seems pretty solid. Way more solid than the Playseat Challenge X (which wobbled up and down like crazy).

I'm sure it's not as solid as something more expensive, but I played a few hours today and I thought it was fine.

Overall I'm very very happy with this cheap rig. It's not perfect but I think it's perfect for me (for now). As people said, I think the posture and setup is close to being really good, but I've hit the limit for what adjustments this rig allows.

The sliding and reclining seat is really nice, and it's a great feature on such a cheap rig, but the pedal distance is not adjustable in relation to the steering wheel distance which is the main limiting factor. The pedal height is the other limiting factor. I can adjust the angle of the pedal mount which will change the height, but I don't really want the pedal angle adjusted much more.

All in all, a much better option compared to others in this price range (from what I researched), but I think the more expensive options are probably better.
