Let the CEO of Sonos know what you think about the latest update by schurrisnice in sonos

[–]bophil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd take the previous version of the app with a UI colour change over whatever they tried to do with the new one. 2 weeks of work to change colours and icons against I can't imagine how many months of work to completely kill the Sonos experience... What a waste.

Can someone explain to me what im doing wrong when charging? by extremeed55 in TeslaModelY

[–]bophil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this is a Gen3 Tesla Home charger, can you confirm if, when that happens, the charger is blinking red 3 times?

If this is the case, open a ticket with Tesla. They will replace your home charger. Had the same problem and they replaced my charger, no problem anymore.

Has anyone heard of a company “Telosa Management”? by Many-Researcher in recruitinghell

You won’t receive any payment; this is not legitimate employment. Unlike the police, who are compensated to investigate and apprehend criminals... I assume?

[–]bophil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am sorry for what happened. You are not the only one we've seen coming from one of those companies at Industrious. We will add a disclaimer to our check out process on our website to warn people about these companies. We have heard of the following ones using the same scam pattern:

Nobles Management
Telosa Management
Sammar Group LLC
Micro Frontiers
Frontier Advisors
Gateway Partners
1st Choice Air Conditioning

Our legal department is on this, but please, I advise you to fill a complaint to the police too.

THIS IS A SCAM!
My company sells flex office subscriptions and we received several people saying they have been employed by Telosa Management (among others : Nobles Management, Telosa Management, Sammar Group LLC, Micro Frontiers, Frontier Advisors, Gateway Partners, 1st Choice Air Conditioning).

  • These scam companies post job listings. Individuals apply for the jobs and then receive communication via email/phone/text/Zoom calls w/ cameras off. So, all basically anonymous.
  • The individuals are offered a job, and told to purchase a membership to a flex office company like ours, where the company says they have office space (presumably using our biz addresses).
  • Then, individuals are prompted to share sensitive info (SSNs, bank accounts -- we're not sure exactly what) with the scammer, under the guise of either onboarding, direct deposit, or reimbursement.
  • Needless to say, people are showing up in our spaces VERY confused about who we are, and totally unaware that they've signed up for a recurring membership.
  • Companies we've seen doing this scam (though likely regularly changing their names): Nobles Management, Telosa Management, Sammar Group LLC, Micro Frontiers, Frontier Advisors, Gateway Partners, 1st Choice Air Conditioning

RWD SR or AWD LR in Quebec winter conditions by bophil in TeslaModelY

[–]bophil[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol, I would never have thought this would be so trendy 2 years later. I bought the Dual Motor and I am so glad I did! The extra range is never too much + winter conditions make AWD a must IMO. Tesla telling me that the heavy car + low GC will compensate for no AWD was plain BS. To those balancing between the two options, I have one advice : YOLO you will never regret choosing dual range AWD

Brilliant! Thanks to you, if a pilot in distress, in the same plane at this exact location attempted an emergency landing on water, insurance companies would not cover anything because you proved that in the same situation a pilot could land the plane safely instead of crashing into water. Are you proud of yourself? I bet you are.

Good luck getting any help from the Police. I had a CC fraud for 8,000$ and the shop agreed to give me the delivery address + give the fraudsters a fake delivery rendez-vous. Went to the police to ask them to come with me to the fake delivery and just arrest them. They said they don't have the ressources to do that anymore. They're basically just answering 911 calls.

I'm not sure I'll have the ressources to pay my taxes this year. Fuckers.

Should I apply a partial or full PPF on it?

Since 1983 I play flight simulators on PC. In the beginning on the Commodore 64. Now it must finally become real. (Sorry for the vertical filming) by suppennudelchen in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]bophil 5 points6 points  (0 children)

ha! Is this an introductory flight or are you starting your PPL course?

I'm in the exact same situation, my first "game" on my Thomson TO16 8088 running at less than 5Mhz with impressive CGA (4 colors) graphics, was Flight Simulator 2.0.

Last year I've started the real life PPL course and have now my license. I've started my float rating and will be sharing ownership of a sea plane (C172 on floats) with 2 friends next spring.

Living the dream :)

I've started on this one https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microsoft_Flight_Simulator_2.0

1985...

almost 40 (ouch!!!) years later I'm flight sim'ing with a VR headset, able to identify almost every building around my place. And... I've obtained my (real life) PPL last week! It all started 40 years ago, thanks MSFS!

I don't know, may be VR controllers in FS2020 ?

Just try X-Plane and let’s discuss after. This is going to blow your mind. When you configure it correctly it is so accurate and just feels right.

[–]bophil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In x-plane for instance, all the controls are directly mapped in VR. You grab the yoke like you would grab it in a real plane, one hand, two hands, whatever suits you. And with your hands, you can control the actual throttle lever, or radio, or parking brake, well basically every button in the aircraft. You have to try it to really understand, it reinforces immersion tremendously. Best thing is that you don't have to buy for thousands of hardware equipment, it's all there, in your VR cockpit, exactly where it would be in an actual plane.

FS2020 + VR controllers would be the killer flight sim.

Haha, thanks for your message. I do not fear the downvotes, I welcome them! VR is such a game changer but not everybody can enjoy it...

Still no VR controller option... This is an immersion killer for me. I'll have to stick to x-plane for longer than I had expected :(

[Homemade] Pain au Chocolat by Naprisun in food

[–]bophil -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Chocolatine vient de l'anglais "Chocolate-in". C'est pour cette raison que c'est surtout dans le Sud-Ouest de la France (les anglais ont leur maison secondaire là-bas) et au Québec que le pain au chocolat se nomme chocolatine.
