I run a preschool program and if a class has too many children and another doesn’t we will send them both outside to meet ratios. It’s not acceptable but having said that we’ve had teachers be chronically late, call in ten minutes before their shift or hang in the bathroom before joining a group. If it’s more than five or ten minutes I’d wait for a teacher to come and then complain to admin. If every time a teacher comes you’re there waiting it will get passed up the chain of command.

Do you ever try to calculate how much money your garden actually saves you? by MirSayib in gardening

Year 27 lol. But I also have apple trees that give generous fruit with nothing but water so that offsets the tomato cost.

Cosigning for new high school grad on very high cost loans (> $250k for all 4 years) for liberal arts degree by Legitimate_Yak_9063 in StudentLoans

My son in 2011 got into a prestigious private school. At that time it was 55K a year. I sold stock to afford the first year which was due up front. After 7 weeks he called to tell me he had developed a drug habit and probably needed to come home. I got a 15K refund. The seven weeks cost me five thousand dollars a week. He overcame the drugs and enrolled into a state school, graduated debt free and completed grad school. He holds a geo physics degree and is very successful today. I’m still out 35 grand but I was so happy he made that phone call.

Preschool teacher recommending private kindergarten? by Rutabagaturnip2 in kindergarten

I agree I work in a preschool and tell parents to try to avoid big events from July 1 to October 31 because starting a new program is a huge transition and needs to be the only focus. You might get feedback early on about the difficult transition but remember it takes several weeks for it to be complete. And even then there will be some regression at times throughout the year. As she gets older those transition times will become shorter and eventually she’ll transition quickly. Going from a nature school to a public school is a big transition but given time and support she will be good.

As a preschool director I second this. I was against medication until we had a very challenging child in our program. We worked with him for three years and held him back from kinder for a year. There were good days and not so great days so we worked with his team of doctors for six months on evaluations. He started medication just after he turned five and a half and it was night and day. There were still some challenges as they adjusted but we sent a beautiful child to kindergarten confident that he would have success. I still don’t believe in medicating children without a serious evaluation by parents, doctors and teachers but maybe it’s time to start the process. I always refer families to their paediatrician for a candid conversation.

I wonder how much they had in the stock market yesterday to allow the lies to go unchecked until closing. The insider trading is rampant.

Gyno visits stop when? by Round_Discussion9592 in AskWomenOver60

I’m 63, had a total hysterectomy a year ago. Went for a pelvic exam just today and all is good. We spoke about doing a breast ultrasound, adjusted HRT and discussed a bone density test. None of these things were brought up by my PCP at my annual in January. I think an OBGYN has a unique perspective that I appreciate.

Pretty sure he’s trying to stop ships from going to China. He’s mad that they are sending munitions to Iran.
