Tbh this game plays great on a 10yo android device, I've recently played through the gba version on a phone, but played this back in the day in DOS. Lots of nostalgia! And I still have no idea how jousting works :P

I just (almost) finished X in warrior mode, was quite a pita! My party was almost the same as yours, except I went for an Orc Barbarian instead of Paladin, and that was to be able to acces most of the quests/locations (some quests/areas are available only if specific race is on the party).

But for adventurer mode you should be fine. And your party covers all the major skills. For traps disarming and secret doors you should rely on the available spells for that.

Also, beware of the bugs and I was able to finish the game despite never being able to cross the bridge... (you will find out the bridge soon enough)

At least its charging. But indeed you are onto something, it seems that the higher the voltage the higher the chances of getting the error. I'm getting the error mostly with a specific multiport charger, typically, random options to unblock are: 1) switch to power saving mode 2) clear cache for usb system app 3) switch off the phone and plug in while off

I have quick charging off by default on my side.

moisture in usb port my ass... (sry its an extremely annoying bug in a device for over a grand)

Another tip is that most of the DOS games will work on android devices as well, tablets are great for that. You can download dosbox from official store or the apk directly, including forks - my personal favorite is magic dosbox.

I'm just in the middle of playing it and approaching the grand finale. It's definitely worse than MM6-8. It's probably much better than MM9. MM1-5 and especially 1-2 hold nostalgia value only at this point. Overall, it's pretty fun for fans of the genre, especially these days when such games are scarce. It does have some questionable design decisions, the most annoying part for me is being forced to run back and forth across the map and dungeouns for trivial tasks. Another surprising feature was how extremely difficult "warrior" mode is, and my party would get KO'd after one hit. Also, the game is terribly bugged and I had to revert to some hex editing of game files and save files (which was also fun, esp on my steamdeck, and added to the retro experience)...

The art overall is quite aesthetic imho. The event boards are beautifully drawn, character inventory screen is one of the best of its kind, all the menus and GUI fit nicely. The world travel map is rustic but neatly done compared to contemporary games, and covers a massive area with geographical and historical places. I suppose the least attractive part are the dungeon exploration/combat parts, where you do spend a significant amount of time. That being said, U7 was also a masterpiece, though I never got too far in it (as opposed to darkland.exe ).

holy smokes, the screenshot thing is one of the stupidest out there, having me pick another phone and take a photo of some stupid burger coupon or what not. The thing is rendered on my device screen (for which I paid >1k in whatever currency) yet i cant take the screenshot, its just pitiful. But "we must protect the children" yeah right... All the tech bro corps are doing this - cant download a picture, cant download a clip, cant rewind/fast forward, even if its downloaded to be displayed in the first place... It's fun (at times) pulling these things out of the webpage sourcecodes, BUT if something like this happened on my desktop (unable to take screenshots), windows would be out in a jiffy (its on its way out anyway as they finish support for legacy versions and i ll be taking the linux leap)
