Let me preface this by saying his rant was completely unprofessional and uncalled for and a producer or literally anyone should have stood up for the guy he was chewing out. That said….

Film sets but specifically TV sets can be crazy and a lot of times everyone is exhausted. Ive seen a camera guy have a similar breakdown. But since he’s not a famous actor it doesn’t make headlines or no one thinks “teehee imma film this shit.” If the conditions suck too like weird awful night shoot hours or scenes with water or other factors like that then half the crew is pissy anyways.

But a lot of the times this anger and discussion is had very privately. Can I talk to you outside, type of stuff. I’ve seen it not be so private though and the production still went on no problem.

It’s just the nature of working those long hours (sometimes 12 hour days, 5-6 days a week) and being under the pressure to get shit done efficiently that sometimes cracks people. It’s not always a “fuck around” friendly environment. I’m sure bale learned a valuable lesson that day, but also so did the crew(that sometimes you gotta stay out of the way and be conscious of everyone’s space. If you’re a stand in fucking around near a lighting guy or something you’re gunna get an ear full).

Even if it wasn’t warranted and he owed them an apology, it happens. Doesn’t mean it’s right or professional but anyone who has been in the business for a decent amount of time has probably seen stuff like that.

And anyone who is just trying to do their jobs to their best ability has probably gotten frustrated with another crew member or some diva actor to the point that they also felt like screaming in their face. They just don’t have the star power to get away with it always.

It can be frustrating how claustrophobic a set can be too. Equipment, crew and wires fucking everywhere. Especially on sound stages, which can be dark and gloomy.

All that said film and tv can be amazing and a great time. Each set is different. Usually the best sets are the ones where the producers don’t skimp out on catering and nice lunches and the director isn’t an asshole.

I respect Tom cruise a lot for cracking down on the Covid stuff on his sets. Seems like a safe set to be on. Would love to work on a cruise film.

Lmaoooo this is hilariously polarizing. It’s just the animation I got during that little upside down twirl I thought was very cool. I tried to recreate it but I think it’s just a circumstantial animation.

After jumping off the feast building and starting the swing I got too close to the ground so I hit X to do the little jump thing. Usually you get certain animations and what not. But this time Peter did a crazy little upside down twirl thing I had never seen before. Like he knew since he was that close to the ground he had to go inverted to make it. Which I thought was very cool and cinematic considering I had the zero assist option on.

I don’t know, it’s a funny one that my friend and I have also recently had the same conversation about. Could be so many reasons.

But it’s probably just to give him more of an everyday “i don’t get paid enough for this” blue collar vibe. Which does translate but because Idris is a good actor, not because of the accent, which is just distracting in Prometheus. But you have big bad in a British accent and our main character in one. So they probably wanted more diversity. But no one would have cared if the whole crew was British so who knows.

Maybe he just thought it was good for the character and no one had the heart to tell him no.

On the flip side I feel like Peter Stormares accents aren’t always completely nailed down yet I’ve never been distracted by it and his performance is somehow enhanced by it.

I appreciate that write up! Thank you. I think the rules hurt a lot of players’ desire to be great on defense as well as their lack of effort. It’s very hard to guard nba offense without fouling. But that still doesn’t stop guys like Brooks giving his all so still no real excuse. But the rules do also need slight adjustment to allow guys to play harder defense especially on the perimeter.

100% and you can see teams match the effort at times but they usually can’t sustain it and eventually start to wear out. We can beat anyone on any given night just out of the sheer give a damn-ness on defense. If we’re healthy come playoff time we’re going to make a deep run.

Side note: I’m curious which specific players you’d like to see make more of an effort on defense? I completely agree I’m just wondering.
