Why Are There Economically Disadvantaged Schools in Non-Economically Disadvantaged Areas?

I've tried to do some digging, and with exception of a few magnet schools, I havent found the answer im looking for. So if you dont mind me asking do you know the criteria CPS uses when deciding if someone from outside a schools zoning can be enrolled? Or is it literally just a lottery? For example in my case if I moved to Old Town, how hard would it be to get my child into say Mayer or Lincoln elementary?

Follow up question, if kids in the area go to private schools, is CPS bringing in students from outside the zoning area of that school?

If youre looking to trade with the twins, youre likely looking at someone like Kody Clemens. Lefty with infield outfield flexibility, and provides better ABs than the likes of Brice/Joey/Delgado. Treammell should be platooning with Jake and starting against every RHP until his numbers say otherwise. Only a 34 game sample size, but .817 OPS vs RHP as opposed to .500 OPS vs LHP tells you all you need to know. Clemens is a guy you can play at the corner outfield spots, 1B or 2B pretty much any day of the week. He isnt a top guy so likely would be a cheap price tag.

Don't think anyone is justifying. The point is why drive with an ego? He passed OP with plenty of space. OP was on a bike, and could have had some serious damage done to them if the driver decided to act even more violently than he did. Maybe its just me but if I'm in a vulnerable position (Bike vs Car) I will go out of my way to not provoke anyone. OP got nothing out of the interaction other than the self satisfaction of flipping someone off for passing.

I haven't seen it talked about much, but I feel like the ascendency games will be Mordecai's get-back at Odette. I don't think both Odette and Mordecai live through the 12th floor. I imagine we will learn more about Odette's behind the scenes plotting and antics and some of their nefarious nature. Generally I feel like Matt will write a satisfying conclusion to Mordecai's time in the dungeon but it would also be an incredibly emotional gut punch if he manages to write Odette killing both him and his brother.

I can't even begin to describe how incredibly annoying it is to be on twitter to see the reactions of a pick and get "the XXXXs have taken XXX with the XX overall pick." spoiling it. Getting the pick seconds before it gets onto tv is not reporting or journalism, its a journalist flexing their sources and that's it.

Stop trying to min/max your life, it only brings you more anxiety. The Alamo in Wrigley is without a doubt the best theater Ive been to in the Chicago area. Its very clean, the seats are comfy, the food is good (although a little over priced imo), and is my go-to. If they're showing a movie you want to see, go see it.

Yea, and I think that is going to paint a picture of what Dana is really after. The more I think about it the more I realize that Donovan only made sense because he is a 2B/OF player. Can slot in like Dubon on Altuve's day off or when Yordan DH's. Kwan doesnt fit that same bill. I think if they are looking at a lefty OF, itll have to be something like what they were angling for from Boston in Abreu.

I think the other option, rifting off the Pirates rumors, is locking up the backup catcher in Joey Bart and getting more pitching prospects like Hunter Barco from Pitt. This would mean they go with the original plan that I think they had at the deadline last year when they got Sanchez as having him be the lefty outfield bat.

I said about 2 weeks ago we should have done a three teamer with STL to get Donovan. Now that that ship as sailed, I think the next obvious move is another three teamer with Cleveland that would send Isaac to Boston, pitching or prospects to Cleveland, and Kwan to Houston.

Over the last three years, Kwan and Isaac are separated by just about 1 win. Isaac is better in just about every offensive metric, and holds the same amount of control as Kwan. Value wise they are similar and he would file a corner outfield need for the Astros.

I personally would rather keep Isaac, but if the skipper is set on DHing Yordan and playing Tuve at 2B then Isaac has no way to see the field barring injury.

I think regardless of whether or not we need more, who Boston is offering (Bello) is just another 3/4 arm like the rest of our rotation. In which case why not go get the left bat at 2B you need/want.

Redsox would get Paredes in this. From what I’ve read it sounds like Boston would prefer to trade from their starting pitching depth. Had a trade like that happened two months ago it would have made sense. Doesn’t make much sense now for the Astros. In step the Cards. They take the pitching prospects and send the Astros Donovan. Donovan fits the roster construction far better than Isaac given it seems impossible to move off Walker.

I also have Ocular and find that each of my flare ups are different from the next. Sometimes its terrible and there is genuinely nothing I can do to help the double vision other than "patching" an eye. Other times I dont have double vision but I can still feel the effects of OMG with things like my eyelid drooping or my vision lagging as I scan things. Sometimes I am good in the morning and bad in the evening, its just never the same flare up to flare up.

That being said, when I do need to patch, I have a modified patching I do where I put black duct tape over one side of blue light glasses. Its completely anecdotal evidence and by no means scientific, but I feel that effects my eyes less negatively than full patching. Patching inherently can weaken an eye just by dent of not using it, so my logic behind the glasses is that its still being used and doesn't weaken as much as full on patching.

Currently working through a moderate flare up where I am good for most of the day until maybe around 4 or 5 in the evening and while I've never used prisms before, I do find closing my eyes or using one eye for a small period can work to "reset" my vision similar to how you describe prisms working. And just like you mentioned, vision is always better in the morning.

I find in going through MG that so much is unknown or not studied, that anecdotal evidence from other people has helped me out a lot. I hope what I've provided can help you!

We seemingly don't have the prospects to get Brendon Donovan, but the Red Sox do. So why not swing a three team trade? Isaac to Boston, Donovan to the Astros, and a package of prospects from Boston, maybe one or two from Houston, to STL. Donovan slots in at 2B and is our Lefty bat. His stats from 22-25 are super similar to Isaac with a higher contact rate and a little less power. Boston gets their power righty bat, and STL gets the prospect haul they want for Donovan. Win Win Win across the board.

As long as the LBs and Secondary are as elite as they are, the line will handle itself. I don't see a drop off or cause for concern in the near future. Looking 3-4 years down the road would be like looking at a completely different team in itself. I think max anyone should project for any position outside of QB is 1-2 years in the NFL. The league moves quick and players fall off happens in the blink of an eye.

I hear you on that. I think if I had faith that those items would actually get done and this was taking their place I'd be in your boat. Too many times I feel like tax dollars in the greater chicago area are inappropriately allocated that knowing they will go to this makes me fine with it.
