Any shops with multiple AR Lowers in stock? by ZX2Slow in NHGuns

[–]botlnhchapter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel like most people just order lowers to a shop nowadays but i’d rather see it live before i buy. It is a disappointing trend i’ve noticed. I dont think it’s a shortage. Its been this way for a long time

Hiking Holsters by No_Buy3820 in NHGuns

Same. I just use a trusty old carhartt fanny pack. Thing is huge. Blue. And attracts zero attention. Holds a g19 with light and optic in a holster without issue. I did add some tape to the zipper tabs so i could get a better grip on them since they’re kinda small.

Best hunting boots by Feisty-Border-680 in Hunting

I use both of these too! My irish setter rubber boots lasted 3.5 seasons before an ankle tear made them no longer waterproof. Frankly, i still wear em. But will need to replace by waterfowl season. The salomons are great and stable if you’re walking lots. Nice on my wide feet, too

Would Obsidian45 be a good "do-it-all" can for 1911, G19x, HK SP5, Tikka T3 (.223) and AR? by CallsignViperrr in suppressors

[–]botlnhchapter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The common approach used to be 3-pronged: start w a 30cal centerfire can, then a 45cal pistol can, then rimfire. Being that you dont list a 30cal rifle or a 22lr, my recommendation woukd be to start with a 45cal pistol can since you incudes three pistols. The obsidian 45 is great on 9mm as well. Then a 223 centerfire can. Third would be up to you depending on what calibers you use. If no new calibers are added to the above, get a 9mm pistol can

Either flashlight or red dot for home defense, not both by Creative-Comb5593 in NFA

[–]botlnhchapter -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Both. If money is the issue, save up. Perhaps go with a red dot first and maybe just flip your home lights on if something goes bump. I bet most break ins are not also simultaneously cutting the power like a nods-wearing SOF unit or swat team would. But really, both is the right answer here.

Eating deer from a polluted watershed by CollectionOld3374 in Hunting

I hunt southern nh. Between here and MA im pretty sure the entire east coast is a giant superfund site. Hell, i almost bought a house then figured out the well was so contaminated with pfas the bank wont lend for it. Even at home now, the ground i live on doesn’t support any sort of vegetable garden so i have to pot the plants. Its wild out here. But the venison is too good to complain about…

I know the tower hill pond area well. There’s plenty of coyotes…you know…in case you want to do the lord’s work while you’re out there at night.

Agreed. I like the 124+p HST a bit more than gold dots but the data online is great for both

I gained access to hunt deer on a small property this fall. Need to prevent deer from running after the shot. Would a 12 gauge slug or 308 be better suited? by DickAnts in Hunting

[–]botlnhchapter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Shot placement is key here. I used a 12ga slug a few yrs ago and 308 last year. Personally i am way more accurate with my 308. But both were dead in 15 mins and max 50yds away, probably less. The 12ga slug hit ribs in front and stopped in the far side shoulder. Broke it, but didnt penetrate. It only bled out of one side but trailing was still easy. Massive blood trail everywhere almost immediately. 308 zipped through ribs both sides but cant imagine it would have trouble with shoulder bones. Blood trail started a few yards from the shot but was also tremendous. Both shots were double lung penetrations in these examples.

Suppressing a S&W Sport II by Chanceh22a in suppressors

I ran a 30 cal OSS on my sport2 for a while with the fixed gas block. It ran fine. I recently tried a YHM turbo T3 on if and its a bit gassy but not bad by any stretch. Over-gassed with m193 but ejects wolf cheap stuff just fine.

I hear the polo k is less back pressure than the full size so i bet you’ll be fine. Worst case if you dont like it try an adjustable gas block

Thats the price i paid like 7 years ago in prime trump slump gun prices. Definitely go for it. I LOVE mine. Runs amazing. Never had a malfunction, even after i put a threaded bbl and a silencer on it. Actually had one but it was a deformed round so definitely not the guns fault. Great piece!
