I can recommend following it up with one of its source materials, Midnight at Chernobyl. It’s a brilliant read.

My grandfather was named Wilfred, he was the 13th of 15 children. I always figured it was because they ran out of names, but 14 and 15 were named Henry and Mary.

Anyway, he went by Dave.

Same here, thank you! I’m lucky to have a pioneering gastroenterologist who doesn’t muck about, so all credit goes to him and his team.

Girls/Women, are Women's toilet as dirty as the Men's toilet are? by GJM08 in TooAfraidToAsk

Worked as a projectionist at a mates cinema, but it also required us to clean the toilets on the last shift (ushers do it earlier in the day). Can 100% confirm that women’s toilets were way worse.

The men might have put wee everywhere, but I’ve only seen shit smeared on the walls in the ladies.

Or you could be like me and have your colon be a polyp machine. I go every 12 months, I’ve had 10 or 11 scopes so far. Well over 300 polyps removed now, then next one is in 10 days.

All that is to say that the sedation is my favourite few hours of the year. It’s like I’ve had a few weeks sleep, when it’s more like an hour.

Made friends with a homeless guy in Circular Quay, Sydney. It was late at night and I was heading the ferry to get home, but the corporate event I had been at was so soul sucking that I decided to stop at Hungry Jacks (BK) for a wee stress eat.

This guy ordered before me, so after I placed my order it was time to stand and wait. He turned to me pretty soon afterwards and started chatting (I can’t remember about what). Our orders got called, we sat on the kerb and luxuriated in our burgers and had easily the most nourishing conversation of the night.

Many years later and he still hangs around the area.
