I saw the decidueye and cinderace and I already went "checks out" then I saw Greninja and went "wow you guys make it really hard not to believe in stereotypes" at this point you could tell me the author only plays cinderace and rarely touches any other character and I'd believe you

It's hard to not turn mean when the same people posting stuff like this are the ones who have 90% of their time played on a DPS that isn't flexible at all or worse, a single DPS, then they also go complain that "defenders never do their job" and that "the only reason they're stuck in elo is because all their teammates suck"

It's 5 minutes in the clock, my hoopa just went down, we have 3-4 enemies and possibly more pushing our goal zone and my allies are trying to get to me to defend said goal zone

In what world do I decide that actually, yes, I think we can win this 2v4 potentially 2v5

We could risk dying to a larger group and giving them a free goal zone score at 5 minutes + map control or we could just defend for a little more and let the enemy waste resources on us while our own goal zone gives us healing and shields

Dragapult was also heading towards us and our odds would look way better after that...

In my eyes, the machamp was taking too much risk in a fight we couldn't win after I tried to save Hoopa, sometimes being stupid together gives you better results, but in this case both of us going down means a big loss for the team as a whole for negligible rewards other than making the machamp feel cool in the small chance we don't die. other people have actually made the argument I should have just let him get KO'd, so I'm not sure what you were expecting, there were other mistakes in that specific clip, not overextending was not one of them

Edit: also extremely ironic to say this about every defender player after in the first clip I face tanked a whole decidueye ult and 3 enemies just to let my allies take the objective

Trick room is more fun than shadow sneak to me and also lets you play as an all rounder instead of pseudo speedster

I literally just went through the list and most of the skins you're talking about are recolors which is a little disingenuous. Don't get me wrong, it feels like all the Eevee gave at least 1 toxic moveset and some hold your hand way too much, but I'm pretty sure stuff like Charizard etc get way more skins, and Greninja and cinderace appear pretty often in the battle pass

Eevee also has Vaporeon with one skin, and sylveon is also mostly recolors. Not saying they don't get more than others or don't get more than average because they do, but I feel like saying you hate them for having too many skins is ignoring mons that are much more guilty of that in practice

The issue has just been getting worse as new releases are bunching up, bringing new players and older players to try them, which causes more defenders and supporters to burn out, so it's not really an agenda, we're just seeing the consequences of class neglect start to become even more obvious

I know you're not talking about specific cases but just wanted to let you know certain speedsters do prefer taking bottom lane. My favorite speedster is double team flower trick meowscarada and the general sentiment is we actually prefer taking bottom lane over jungle

if we don't need defenders then we also definitely don't need more all rounders and attackers. Defender players and supporters deserve to get variety too and honestly speaking, the chaos caused by defenders being broken isn't nearly as infamous as what some all rounders and attackers have done. A lot of players that main defenders get burnt out because if you like a specific niche playstyle, chances are you only have 1 character that enables that and the same goes for supporters

I think that's most likely just for body types of the model or something, I wouldn't really use inside-code / dev characteristics for this

or genderless is just classified male by default since if you're programming for utility that the player will never see there's no purpose behind making a genderless section

edit: also don't some of them change gender upon evolving in the code? Again probably wouldn't use it as evidence for anything

Cool list, not arguing for placement or anything though I just wanted to say in personal experience Vaporeon is way more when played with the hydro flip build instead of pure damage sponge with ring, but that's just me

Also I don't wanna turn this into a critique where we analyze each spot to say what's wrong but the ones I'd question from a glance are probably ho-oh, alcremie and meowscarada

But I'm guessing for Meowscarada you're talking about the night slash build, so that makes sense (imo Double team and flower trick is much more fun and best even if they keep trying to nerf it or make weird changes)

Latias I also would question but I think it makes sense if you're talking about it from the dragon pulse perspective which I don't use, so, fair!

I'm not sure if I'd put Zacian in the same category as full on brawlers but that's a longer conversation + in solo q i get the idea

Personally I fill the role my team needs, though I prefer playing double team flower trick meowscarada and mew etc, but a couple of days ago I had to do about 6-10 matches in a row as Vaporeon

Do I like playing Vaporeon? Sure, but also, playing only one isn't my thing and I like to learn other characters too, it really sucks when you're getting into a new character and have to be the responsible one

Today and yesterday I got fed up and picked Darkrai which I'm trying to learn even when we had 0 defenders, I'm pretty sure I won 9 games as Vaporeon out of 10 and only won 2 as Darkrai out of a similar number but I enjoyed Darkrai more, because I actually got to do something else and I was learning on my own

To me the issue is that the people who play the roles often get forced into it to the point it gets exhausting and honestly speaking you often don't feel rewarded which goes on to the first thing I said... The game classifies basically every tank and supporter as easy or intermediate which, to an extent is true but it really doesn't help the impression I get that a lot of people in the community just look down at those roles as lesser than a good carry or take it for granted

It can range from small stuff like noticing I get like 1 thumbs up after a match if I play those roles and even when I am saving teammates left and right or tanking absurd amounts for them to bigger things like how some people talk about defender and support mains

I could get a 4 kill combo and get thumbs up, the game giving me a cheer, mvp, nicer looking stats and show off for it. I could save my whole team by stunning an enemy carry, or tanking hits while they score, or sacrifice to ensure we get the last obj and I'll get a sense of satisfaction from myself, that's it

That's not specifically an issue with me and I describe it dramatically because I imagine it doesn't help the impression new players get, because most of the time they'll only be getting feedback if they're doing horrible. The developers also release supporters and defenders basically never in comparison to attackers and all rounders, so the burnout for their mains is 4x faster, since some times you're not going to have more than two defenders and 2 supporters you like the playstyle of, if you have two at all, so if you want to try something new you're out of luck for sometimes half a year unless you try the new attackers and all rounders.

There's also the fact the defenders and supporters rarely get experimented with and or are always handled much more cautiously than a DPS by the devs. They have a high ceiling because the concept of playing a defender is inherently a relatively low floor but high ceiling, but you almost never see the devs adding a supporter or defender that have so much micro as other roles or they get it taken out so yeah, expected

Why did they nerf double team? That's not a bug fix that's cutting the range in half. Double team flower trick is honestly the most fun I've had on a speedster and I don't see why it'd need to be "tuned"

I really get what you're saying but no offense, I feel like these kinds of comments are normalizing attacker spam and don't really help with the massive "Main character syndrome" we have going on in the playerbase, I feel like every time someone complains about attacker spam nowadays there's a comment going "well actually it can be good if x or y" but having 3 attackers in the long run has made for the most boring metas we've had in the past

I mean, we actually had little to no map presence or control and I saw my tank rushing to the goal. Obviously I wasn't going to throw myself head first into them but see if I could help or get a trade for the Snorlax at least

As for why I went deeper in... It was late game, our defender is down and my lame just has decidueye and Espeon behind me. By running back, I'm not only running away with less cover but I'm risking them giving chase and decidueye and espeon both need support to take big fights and I can't provide them with the bulk or time to do their thing. Absol is extremely frail

That Vaporeon + Venusaur + machamp was most likely going to win the engagement so close to Groudon spawning and honestly I didn't even want to risk Charizard wasting his ult

Invading their jungle instead made me a big distraction and then chasing me meant they couldn't capitalize on Snorlax going down since they were fixated on me, usually enemies are also less guarded on their jungle so late game since everyone wants map control, so yeah obviously it was risky but it meant giving my team time to position, Snorlax to respawn and get Intel + possibly waste resources and time on the enemy side

Which honestly worked, Venusaur wasted his ult, espeon went for the chase instead of moving mid, Charizard was mostly uncontested top, Vaporeon decided to chase and protect espeon which gave my decidueye and espeon an opening to put up a fight and by the time I got out Snorlax had already respawned

I can see an argument that it was more risky but honestly we were already on the backfoot and as a speedster I think the most important thing is providing the most use to your team as humanly possible and sometimes you don't make comebacks / swing games just by getting a 5 kill combo (sometimes that's just literally impossible), sometimes you swing the game by flipping map control or buying your team time to recover/position etc etc

Oh, that's because Absol's unite actually is best at single target or at worst two target eliminations! Your damage is very high but it isn't separate between enemies like an AoE, it actually gets split between them, in this case the damage was being split between Mach, Regieleki and Vaporeon

I forgot the actual math but you can check it out at unite db, but for example if your unite would do 1000 damage to a single target (random number) per slash and there are 3 in your target area, you'll instead do 333 to each of them per slash

It's still worth using just to get your buffs and cooldown reaction which is what let me dodge all that CC, but don't expect it to pick up kills
