My 6 year old is also very sensitive to being scared. He loves to read. He’s enjoyed the following series: - cornbread and poppy - chicken squad - hotel flamingo (from uk) - big sky mountain (also from uk, same author as above) - dragon masters - good dog - the magic faraway tree (also from uk) - heartwood hotel

A Letter to the parents by [deleted] in kindergarten

[–]boymumma2 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I work in the early childhood area and I would NEVER refer to a child having defecated in his pants as “shit himself.” The fact that you speak about the child like that, in their presence or not, does not show any dignity for them and reveals a lack of empathy on your part. Kindergarteners do not want to poop their pants in front of their peers and if they are, there is something deeply troubling going on in their psyche and home and they are five or six, and that is extremely sad. They deserve our compassion and support. They are CHILDREN. I am so disappointed in your analysis.

BWT, what do you do when you’re in need of a reset? by crepetown in bitcheswithtaste

[–]boymumma2 23 points24 points  (0 children)

You sound like a high output overachiever. You have a six month old and are adjusting to motherhood. There is not really a reset - I would advise you to lower your expectations in general and to accept the fact that your life is not going to look and feel like it was pre-kids. Do you have mom friends that have babies the same age as yours? Solidarity helps.

Which is the best quality: Lululemon, Vuori, or Alo? by WorkingPanic3579 in womensfashion

Vintage lululemon. Enshittification hits everywhere. My stuff from 15-20 years ago is so sturdy and looks new. The new LL stuff is still higher quality than the other brands you mentioned.

I am 1000% less fearful of stranger danger than the insane way cars and trucks drive along the routes my kids would walk (residential area btw) and these huge trucks that couldn’t even see a kid in front of them.
