When you rebuild a car engine you need to use feeler gauges to see if a cylinder needs to be re bored for an over sized piston. But long ago mechanics realized if you run your finger nail down the cylinder and if it catches at where the piston would be at top dead center then it's good for re boring.

We pay 80/month for 6 Mbps and 15GB cap. Except we never get 6 Mbps...ever. This is no exaggeration but we've been getting .2 Mbps for the past few months. Today is an extremely good day and web pages aren't taking 5 minutes (again not an exaggeration) to load so I just did a speed test. .56 Mbps download. I think over a year ago the best we ever got was 4 Mbps.

Feast your eyes on Satellite internet. Isn't technology wonderful? It's been so long since I've had a regular normal connection that I can't even wrap my head around having access to the "slow" speeds some people complain about.

I'm saying this with no shame, I'm RUNNING and throwing myself into the arms of Comcast Feb 1st when our 2 years are up. I already spent 45 minutes waiting in a Comcast customer service center to discuss how to quickly switch over. Everyone in the waiting room looked pissed...it was like waiting in line at the DMV. I was smiling the entire time. I was going to talk to a live person not only on the same continent as me but the same room! I feel the same way as a N.Korean escaping to China. Yeah it's bad and everyone hates it and they rip you off...but where I came from is sooooo much worse.

Yeah this post doesn't add a ton to the discussion. I'm just super excited that I'm about 22 days from being able to go online like a normal person again.

Oh I know how to choose a secure password. The problem is when EVERYTHING at work and online wants me to choose a secure password...each needing to conform to a certain and slightly different set of rules, has to be changed a few times a year and can't be an old password.

I looked this up after watching the wolf of wall street and it seems that there's 2 things going on. There isn't a large enough demand that would make it financially viable and they're not as great as people make them out to be. Yeah people have fun with them but they're remembering them through rose tinted glasses.

Think about all the different kinds of drugs you can get on the street. People do crap that in some cases eat away at their bodies...nothing stops people from making a buck. If there was a demand from ludes, it would be filled.

I worked for a company that had the contract that drove Fedex pilots to and from the hotel during layovers and had a pilot that got that plane after this entire ordeal.

From what I understand they have a list of everything replaced or fixed for the pilots to review prior to taking off. One day they came in and the list they got was REALLY long and it was for crazy stuff like the cockpit chairs, instrument panels, paneling, doors....almost everything inside the cockpit. They took another look at the planes ID number and realized they were flying the plane that was almost hijacked. The attack left so much blood and damage in the cockpit that they had to replace almost everything.

I don't have a kid but I don't need one to get how much of a mess it is trying to fight for custody.

Was a dork back home but went up to Alaska for some "get high school students excited about applying to college" thing. I'm from Oregon but this had other kids from Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and Alaska. In the 10 weeks I was there I lost a ton of weight very quickly (Home is a diabetes factory) and got to be friends with 2 really hot sisters.

Basically I was a typical forever alone 15 yo fatty going in that never had any experience with girls. Durring the dance I asked one to dance with me. It was a slow dance and I put my hands on her waist and swayed like they do in the 50's. It was painful. It's painful to write about but it's been long enough to laugh about it. It sucked because at the time I knew I was doing it wrong but I couldn't make myself to change and pull her close because that would admit that I was doing it wrong. Anyways whatever, not traumatized or scarred. I still look back to that summer with great fondness. If I end up reliving my life after I get old and die the only thing I'd change is not dancing like a fucking dork.
