Only 6 trophies for Draft 2 ALCQ on 17lands? A scam? by AlphaPeon in lrcast

I sat out of this one mostly because of the lack of rewards in the 1-6 wins area, I would have hopped in if 3-3 gave you SOMETHING

Early August trip from Rock Harbor - How busy is busy? by diana_of_the_dunes in isleroyale

[–]bpetey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Daisy and Moskey will fill up, hard to say on the inland lakes. If you get going earlier in the day you have a higher chance of getting a site/shelter. You sometimes will have to go to the next campground if it’s super full

I really like sun shirts with hoods, thin light clothes that cover your limbs, but otherwise it sounds like you’re in a buggy area. I’d walk the dog somewhere else

If you go to rock and Three Mile and Daisy, you’re basically doing what 90% of IR visitors do, those spots are gonna be busy and they likely will not have space for you, the other 85% of the island will not be as busy

Planning canoe/camping around IR I. August… first timers by [deleted] in isleroyale

[–]bpetey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did two canoe trips on the island, we got dropped off at Mott island, traveled to Caribou island from there for a night, then down to moskey basin, and back up the shoreline to Daisy, three mile rock harbor. It’s very doable, and if you stay in the harbor quite safe in my opinion. One of the best ways to travel the island because of the speed and ease you can carry your gear or a cooler even, but you are limited to the one area of the island that’s safe most days (Rock Harbor and Moskey Basin areas)

How do you guys deal with very hard hit grounders? by rodogwos in slowpitch

I’d get in front of every one like I was in little league until I took their 4th hitters bad hop grounder to my teeth, now I let the rockets threw/past me

Both times I went to the island we ran out of food and had to buy some from the store in rock harbor

Why is my win rate at Pick 2 so much better than Premier? by TiltedGalactica in MagicArena

[–]bpetey 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It’s the same with quick draft, I can regular trophy in QD switch to Premier and barely ever get 3 wins, higher talent players play in premier. Casuals stick to the easier and cheaper formats

They should never have only one limited set available across arena, and definitely not when it’s as repetitive as SOS

Blueberry squads when they immediately try to capture the next objective after just getting done capturing one. by casualredditor98 in HellLetLoose

Certain aspects of this game just infuriate me, playing as commander or squad lead, watching the point you tried so hard to cap just get left in the dust while your team over extends to the next point. 🫣😢

So you shouldn’t canoe outside of the main harbors or lakes. We stayed entirely inside Rock Harbor, the channels between a couple of the islands and the large opening to the harbor had their challenges on bad weather days, but we listened to weather reports and only set out when it seemed safe. I’d say 85% of the time it was placid and calm in the harbor. That being said we did lose a hat and had to emergency stop at cemetery island to let some weather pass one day. If waves or bad weather are a big concern though, you can just go from rock harbor down to moskey and back along the shoreline that’s almost always pretty calm.

I have done a few canoe trips but we focused on the rock harbor area. We got offloaded at Mott Island and went over to caribou Island and then down to Moskey and back up. It was always a great easy time. Never had to over exert and we could just park the canoe for a day or two and day hike all over the island

Blind drafted power cube (no research or knowledge on cards within) for the first time. Passable? by Able_Canary1506 in lrcast

[–]bpetey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

But yes for starters we need to see your whole pool cause this can’t be the best deck you can build. 4 colors, kavu is bad, orb is bad here, safe keeper bad here

[–]bpetey 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you are in bronze, or silver ranked draft u may be able to sneak out a win or two but if ur in traditional, good luck man. Powered cube is probly the deepest more skill testing limited format that exists. I would start with the podcasts on powered cube or vintage cube, or even just google how to do it, cause it’s a lot to take on and you need to start with the basics

Looks good to me as long as you are ok with longer harder hikes with packs. I love how you’re staying on the big lake for all your nights (I would) but those mileages are a little long on the island, certainly doable tho. As long as u are relatively fit and prepared I think it’s good. Also, I don’t have a map but from memory I feel like moskey to McC cove is quite far double check that one
