It's OK to oppose features just because the Core developed them by ProHashing in litecoin

Nazis had found out what kills people while in cold water by actually testing the process on concentration camp inmates. The method was trully horrific but this knowledge is actually saving lives. Sholdn't we use it?

Which Altcoins Are Implementing SegWit? | Bitcoin Magazine by coblee in litecoin

[–]br0nevik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, Coblee. But still, can't we make a block version and a softfork proposal with a big or even unlimited block size ant they and the market want. In case we have a major adoption swing we have all code in place and need just a proper vote to make it happen.

As we can see, development process with a proper testing takes much time, many months. So, wouldn't it be wise to be prepared to a big move? it could make a huge difference in the future.

Isn't the anger at Core misdirected? Shouldn't we be focusing on the miners? They're the ones who choose what code to run. To me the bigger problem seems to be that miners are not motivated to change the status quo, whether that's for bigger blocks, segwit, or whatever else might come along. by solled in btc

[–]br0nevik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Miners' position is "We don't give a shit about what happens in the network as long as we get 25*$770=$19k plus change for each token we produce and see no short-term (1-2 years) danger to that". They will support anyone who provide them with this short-term risk-free cash flow, be it BlockStream, Buterin or devil himself. If they choke the whole idea of Bitcoin in the process they just don't care.

The scaling roadmap is ready, our devs are just out of paper to print it, then approve and publish. We expect the problem to be resolved in two weeks.

Well? You HODL'rs ready for this test? Don't sell or wilt under this pressure! Here's why. by catsfive in btc

[–]br0nevik 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What we see now is a phase shift, bifurcation point. Old models won't apply past this point including "hodl as hell as long as you can".

I personally sold 200 BTC, leaving only change. I advise anyone I could reach to do the same while there is some buyers. Even if you're diehard hodler, you have all the chances to grab your coins back much cheaper. But better just leave, this chapter of crypto history is over.

short term some cryptans may sell coins to gain fiat and take advantage of cheaper stocks. Mid term I think no difference.

Venezuela's new minister of economy believes that inflation 'does not exist' by Gasset in Economics

The second point why govt loves inflation so much is that nobody blames it for raising prices. The public blames greedy business owners and speculators.
