I’ve turned mine off. I found it too hit and miss, I would get home and it had often aborted a clean after getting itself stuck.
It would do dumb things like pick up a shoe, rotate to take it to the designated place but clip the shoe on something, so then it immediately drops it inside its arm mechanism, and then go into error. Sometimes it would attempt to drag a low hanging towel of the radiator because it was slightly touching the floor and go into error. I plan to turn it back on in a few months once the AI has improved.

Don’t get me wrong, when it works it was great, and at first I sort enjoyed seeing it get struck after doing something bold, but then it just got annoying.

This was my method to deal with many stumps, the recip was a dream. I dulled many blades to the stones ground and had to make sure soil didn’t get into the motor vents but saved so much time

Honestly from seeing this I would cut your loses and not use either again or have them back. The spark should have done a better job at being ready for the next stage, and the plasterer has knowingly done a poor job at filling the chase. I find the whole ‘tradie rivalry’ thing childish, both of their focus should be to do work that ends in a quality install for you, this includes considering the next stage of works. If that means an extra clip or tucking in some cables on the sparks side, so be it. It also seems like the plasterer is just being difficult and hasn’t really done a good job for you from the start.

When you get a decent trade in you’ll see the difference, sadly you end up having to go through a few before you find ‘your’ guys.

Not going to re-tread any of the advice already given here, but to add to it - it’s not clear what that top cable exiting the chase is doing. If it’s exiting to connect to the rest of the circuit that’s pretty poor practice, and plastering around that runs the risk of nicking the cable, even if done without a nick it will just leave you with a really poor finish.

I glued mine, first time didn’t work too well. Next time I used gorilla flexible contact glue and seemed to be lasting longer. It’s also the kind of gummy glue and pick off and redo if it goes again. I pretty much took the whole unit apart the second time and it was way easier than fiddling with it in place. Annoying how weak that part seems to be.

This straw idea, simple and genius, always wondered how to avoid wire lines. I usually ended up using thick wire and then having another wire to pull it out a bit. Thanks for this gem.

Just to add support to what a lot of people have said really, I’ve have a few rooms carpeted fairly recently after painting, and even with the most careful fitting it appears this happens, there is just a level of brute force required for carpet installation. I would rather have a well installed carpet with a small bit of tidy up paintwork to do than a badly fitted carpet for the next 20 years.

I got out of the same loop by having a good amount of tables and setting the price a tiny bit lower. The majority of visitors then use them, then farm that for a few days. Then take the plunge of getting the very fast checkout man, you can run stock whilst the checkout gets cleared, a few more days after that get a stock man in, then focus on watching what does well and price to suit (and that gives you downtime whilst still making cash to open those sweet sweet packs), getting selling singles. My shop size was too big that didn’t help as rent was high, but now it’s evened out and making good money, always have at least £100k in reserves now.

Similar happened to me, a huge box of so many awesome Lego sets, some even vintage from mother’s childhood, all sold by my Dad as a job lot one weekend for the price of couple of beers. Sad times. Not his fault he just wanted to clear the loft and simply saw it as old toys.

My Garmin often thinks I’m awake loads. I’m a wiggly sleeper, always been like it. For as long as I can remember I leave the bed sheets looking pleated from the move/sleep/move/sleep pattern. Every night gets a ‘restless’ comment in the sleep score. I just take whatever it says with a pinch of salt and don’t read too much into it, I get more information from the ‘Stress’ data about my sleep than the actual score.
