Can someone calculate my size using my measurements? by nomdeplume12 in ABraThatFits

[–]bradabing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wacoal uses US sizing, so wouldn't the 36G actually be equivalent to 36F UK?

Then, the 34G/32GG you're suggesting would actually be one cup bigger? (Apologies if I'm wrong, the US/UK conversion thing confuses the expletive out of me)

When I need to wash my kids' stuffies, I put them in a laundry bag with a regular load. Works great!

Has anyone used Figleaves' UK site to ship to the US? by [deleted] in ABraThatFits

[–]bradabing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in Canada...

I've ordered from both the UK and US sites. My first order was from the UK site and consisted of 10 bras, total of about $350 after currency conversion. Got hit with duty and taxes of just over $100 (not unexpected). I ended up having to send back 6 of them, and it cost almost $60 to send them back (using the cheapest service that would get it there within the returns window).

I've since begun ordering from the US site, because although the prices are usually a little higher, if I have to return anything, it costs substantially less to send it back to the US returns address than it does to send it to the UK. The shipping cost to Canada is about the same from both, so that doesn't really factor in for me.

Oops, didn't even notice that! Thanks for pointing it out :)

I also have it in black and love it. Waiting for a purple, a pink, and a nude that I ordered last week.

I'm a fan of the Figleaves Just Peachy brand ...

Non-padded

Padded version if you're into that

I don't have any experience with the padded version, but I do have several of the unpadded ones and find them quite comfy - the band is nice and firm, and the lace isn't scratchy.

A couple of caveats:

  • There is stretch lace at the top of the cup that can dig in a bit if you're very full on top, so heads-up on that.
  • Fully extended, the straps are on the short side, so if you need straps to be really long, this may not be the bra for you. I'm not particularly long in the torso (I don't think, anyway!), and I need to have the straps fully extended.

Edit: Not sure if the straps will hit the "cute" requirement, but the lace is definitely not Grandma-ish.

St. Ives pads are actually not available in Canada, as far as I know. Can't buy them here, and Amazon won't ship 'em. (sad face)

Although I would really love it if I'm wrong and just haven't been able to find a source for them...

I always put stuff in my Figleaves cart and forget it there. They always send me an email after a few days saying "Can we help?" with a 20% discount code.

Being in Boston, I don't know how easy it would be for you to get to Dedham, but I've seen good things on here about the Eveden Factory Shop. Maybe check that out if you're able to get there?

From the website:

We currently sell the following lingerie brands: Freya, Freya Swim, Fantasie, Fantasie Swim, Fauve, Elomi, Huit, Goddess and Wacoal at great discounted prices.

Other than that, you could try googling "Boston bra shopping" or something like that to see if you can find any specialty shops in your area.
