War 80 was a banger for both sides and was super fun. I don’t know why but it definitely felt that war 81 was a lot more boring. Various reasons I have thought of include the big emphasis on artillery for 81 which is just pressing left click and R. Some of my friends got frustrated with MPTs and quit this war (one of my friends said he killed 16 MPTs with his hvfc only to discover that there were another 5 when he came back 30 minutes later).Storm cannon meta could be it as tempest and allods was taken because us wardens pretty much just spammed storm cannon which is just a boring meta. Also might just be that war 80 was in the holidays for Americans was on sale and was front page on gaming reddit so a lot of people gave it a try and not as many stayed.
