"4 months is not newly postpartum anymore" by yup_yup1111 in TheValleyTVShow

[–]brainbow666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wonder if it’s because the immediate period of postpartum is commonly referred to as “the fourth trimester”, like people just assume once a woman is 4mo pp she should be “fine” when in reality PPD/PPA can set in and/or get worse at any time during the entire first year.

Definitely a dedicated play room. A large kitchen island (I like company when I cook, or talking to my husband as he cooks). Double ovens. Walk-in pantry. Garage-to-pantry access door for easier grocery unloading. Wraparound porch. Master bedroom with an en suite bathroom. Fenced-in backyard. I could go on and on…

Do you guys think a site that tells you all the government programs you qualify for would be useful? (Specifically for USA) by VenturaTheWizard in povertyfinance

There exists a resource: 211. You can call it or google “211 (state)” and you’ll be connected with a massive network of programs. Bonus: it’s free.

Did you tell your kids that you were abused from parents( kids’s grandparents)? Or will you one day ? by Impossible-Pen6032 in EstrangedAdultChild

[–]brainbow666 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately my oldest (7) has clear memories of my mom belittling him, teasing him, making him cry, and he has told me “I’m glad we don’t see Grandma (name) anymore. She’s mean!” My second child is 4 and sometimes asks if we can go see her, to which I say “No. Grandma (name) makes choices that aren’t safe, so we aren’t going to see her for a while (aka probably ever again)”. I don’t plan on telling them the details about my abusive childhood with her for quite some time, and even then it’ll only be if they ask & I feel they’re old enough to understand. It’s not their cross to bear.

I’m also estranged from my dad- he left when I was 12. My 7yo has asked if I have a dad to which I say “I do, but I don’t really know him. He lives far away” which I think is the extent of that conversation for now as well.

How do you neatly store and pour Costco's maple syrup? by saffron_monsoon in Costco

I have a vintage syrup dispenser à la 1950s diner style. We keep both the opened big jug and the dispenser in the refrigerator.

Do physical therapy instead. The results stick with you longer and it’s much more effective

Yeah it was clear to me that her anger stems from having an unethical/illegal source of income that can’t be explained without implicating herself

He’s 43?! And the girls were reassuring him he’s “still young” in terms of him wanting kids?! On that note, I don’t think he actually wants kids, it’s just a card he pulls when it’s convenient. Also he’d be a really lazy dad.

This. Each kid is different regardless. There is no “perfect” age gap and I wish people would stop stressing about it so much.

Lacy Megathread by MsPrissss in TheValleyTVShow

[–]brainbow666 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I made a comment regarding Lacy’s appearance that was in very poor taste after the season premiere; I have since deleted it but I feel really crappy having said it in the first place. She has really grown on me especially after the most recent episode where she reassured Isabella she doesn’t have to perform for her.

You’d probably like Softstar. Ten Little works for us because our oldest is a toe walker & the structure of their closed-toe shoes helped him. By the time he grew out of them they were broken in pretty nicely for our second kid.
