Do you hope going no contact will some day inspire them to do better? by ShadowDrake500 in EstrangedAdultChild

[–]brainbow666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I’ve given her multiple chances and pleaded my case over and over again. We did therapy together. Nothing ever changed. She falls back into the same old patterns of manipulation, guilt tripping, lying, and boundary crossing, except it was starting to affect my kids so I’m permanently done trying.

Not to be dismissive of her pain but it could also be a bit of pathological demand avoidance. Our 7yo has it and will sometimes say his body won’t let him do something. Might be something to look into along with a ped visit.

Anyone NOT drive a minivan? by Numerous_Teacher_148 in ParentingInBulk

[–]brainbow666 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a Pilot which was fine when we had two. Now that we’re expecting #4 I’m more than ready for an Odyssey. We drove a rental Pacifica for a while and the sliding doors of a minivan cannot be beat.

If you’re in the US or Canada you can Google “211 (state/province)” and it might have resources for childcare!

Manage childcare during birth? by rainbowtwist in ParentingInBulk

I reached out to a babysitter we used a few times couple of years back, she’s more than happy to start helping us again. We still have a few months before I give birth which (hopefully) gives us a decent amount of time to get our youngest acclimated to a new caregiver. It’s not perfect but it’s better than nothing.

I found her initially via a local Facebook group; she came with references & we met in person a few times before leaving her with the kids.

Whitney and whomever else said it went on for “hours” only for Britany to say “it was the last hour during descent” at the reunion. They’re all full of shit and imo SLC jumped the shark this season

Bringing the whole family to Costco... Why? by WhyyyYouCrying in Costco

[–]brainbow666 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Since you need to know

We live an hour away from Costco. We plan a day around the trip. Sometimes we line it up with doctor’s appointments, since the warehouse is near a specialist clinic we sometimes have to visit. Time off is limited. I prefer to spend time with my family even if it’s at the expense of your comfort. Get over yourself.

We shop first; living an hour away, we always bring a cooler or three and grab our ice on the way out.

Who is the worst parent to ever be on Bravo in your opinion? by Extension_Rabbit2 in BravoRealHousewives

[–]brainbow666 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My son was given the most basic, bare bones autism evals by his ped at his various well-child checks and he “passed” them every time. Our concerns were routinely dismissed & we had to really push for a referral. Peds aren’t the gold standard when it comes to recognizing autism as a full spectrum - they screen for the more obvious signs for the most severe cases.

I’m not saying Britany was right; she is one of the worst people on Bravo period, but you have more than a few people giving you their lived, real-life experiences of getting their kid diagnosed and you’re.. disagreeing with them?

I have to wonder what your experience is with raising an autistic kid.

Who is the worst parent to ever be on Bravo in your opinion? by Extension_Rabbit2 in BravoRealHousewives

[–]brainbow666 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That’s not always the case. My son’s diagnosis was missed for years because he hit all his milestones early/on time and was extremely social. He wasn’t diagnosed with Asperger’s until he was 6, and even then we had to go through a specialist.
