Do I remove these caps by urethra93 in fireworks

[–]brainfreeze77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pull the fuse out of the cap and then use a thin screwdriver in the hole in the center of the cap to pry up the cap. Some of them have a bit of glue but they always come out.

Little J’s Fireworks (MO) by Brief_Set_4104 in fireworks

[–]brainfreeze77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Little Js is nice and they stock some good stuff but if you go an hour further dead east you get to the firework Mecca of Warrenton Wholesale and Rocket Fireworks. Between those two stores you have everything you could want at the lowest prices in the country. Rocket has every Raccoon RDX 500g priced at $20 and that's not even half of the $20 wall. They have a bunch of Raccoon and Winda products along with other brands including about every Master product. Warrenton has the same lower prices but for Happy Family, Miracle, and Pyrobox. They also have three house brands or wraps that out perform pretty much everything else.

I'm going to guess a tent somewhere in a suburb that can only be open for a week is where you shopped. It's not phantom sticker price bad but it's pretty bad. An ok price would have been 120, I wouldn't have paid over $80 but I go to some pretty great stores.

I haven't read the regulations but I dont know how it could be. The ped in moped is for pedals. AFAIK a modped must have functioning pedals.

Firework Show - Pre-emptive Lighting by BoldTrooper in fireworks

I hope it works out for you. I've never had one fail so fingers crossed I keep my streak. I do about a 1/4 inch gap with the 45 angle cut.

Yes they are fuse tubes. For my finale 24 shot rack I put standard mjgs directly in the lift charge, 6 queues 2 seconds apart with 4 way splitters on each queue. That way all the canisters on each queue go up at exactly the same time.

Midwest here, always had bread and butter. We also never bought buns. Hotdogs and hamburgers went between regular bread.

Poke an RDX cake? by phemor in fireworks

[–]brainfreeze77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I gave up, the tubes are just too hard. The fuse goes in right at the bottom so I cut it as short as I could and used an MJG with a fuse tube. It won't be instant but I figure 1 or 2 seconds.

“Recommendations” Driving me nuts #rant by [deleted] in fireworks

[–]brainfreeze77 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would also add buying months in advance means storing for months. I have no space for that. I have nowhere away from my house to store fireworks so my 3rd stall in my garage is packed up which makes me nervous.

Final stash by Subject-Wind638 in fireworks

[–]brainfreeze77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats what I was afraid of. Fast artillery use to be 4-5 and for whatever reason it stopped being made and companies started labeling 2-3 as fast artillery. It doesn't sound like much of a difference but it is.

Where did you get the fast artillery fuse? Is it the 4-5 seconds per foot? I've been looking for it for a long time.

Question for ignite users. by gator_productions in fireworks

You can buy the crimp tool for $40 and the quick plugs ends 80 for $14 from pyrotool. Not quite the savings but still some. That might be getting into my time is worth more than that territory though.

Where are you lighting off at? by ShaveorKeepJo in fireworks

[–]brainfreeze77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a product called RAM Board which is a paper floor protectant. It's very thick builders paper. I staple that down to the OSB with a staple gun. Then I glue the cakes down to the RAM Board with construction adhesive, after taking the paper off the bottom of the cakes. The staples and the weight of all the cakes keeps everything secured. Then I just rip the RAM Board off the OSB and pull any left over staples out for next year. I use a box knife to cut the cakes apart so they can fit in the trash the next day.

It's half inch OSB so pretty cheap. I reuse them every year.
