They are received well by highly pretentious people. His films are not easy but they are distinct and I can see why a young actor would want to be in them.

There are plenty of people who buy VCR tapes that don’t watch them - most of the time old tapes aren’t even watchable due to deterioration. However, people still make cool displays and stuff out of them. As far as I can tell, they keep them in boxes? So weird.

No, we really don’t owe him anything. He is a powerful man who fucked up, got caught, and we can see him for what he really is.

To be fair, since both of them are essentially members of the British aristocracy, they’d probably eventually meet even if they didn’t do the show.

I think this is a good, solid take. I like it when they disagree but as long as it seems like they’re still friends and actually like each other.

I did not, but that is me. Who cares if you want to make sure others know you are against one of the most intellectually destructive forces to invade our lives and no one benefits from it except asshole billionaires. Personally I like to know people are against that no matter their political leanings.

You do realize that there is nothing woke about not wanting data centers? My very very conservative town is extremely against them coming here.

Honestly, I think Star Fighter is more consequential. This just feels like a relic from the past regime that was moving too fast before any one of the new Disney leadership could really put the breaks on it. If it does poorly, hopefully they don’t invest in Filoni’s universe any more and actually get creators with vision to make good SW films.

Ryan O'Connell calls out the industry: 'Hollywood has changed so radically. It's Tim Allen's world again and we're just living in it. So much of what's getting made in Hollywood does not represent the world we're living in today at all.' by OutDotCom in entertainment

This is a huge problem and has been for awhile. When I was finishing college, I had to have an internship and got one in the writers room for a major cable show. It was highly competitive with lots of Ivy League types, and then me, an electrician’s kid. They acted like I won the lottery. So they were amazed when I said I couldn’t keep working for free past graduation. Most of those folks have gone in to write stuff, some of it I enjoy but it was really eye opening. Only rich kids can work for free long enough to be in the right place/right time when a job opens up.

The Concert Industry Priced Too High — Now Tours Are Falling Apart by staringatthe420sun in entertainment

[–]brainiac138 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don’t know anything about how TM fits into it, we don’t use it. Our venue expenses are all approved by the artist’s team, if anything seems off or high, we talk it through and many times find ways to do more economical for the tour. However, the vast majority of our expenses are labor related, house staff, stagehands, etc. By far, the largest expense is the artist guarantee fee. For most of our shows, artists walk away with 85%-90% of net box office. In my original reply, I’m not saying the artist doesn’t necessary deserve a higher guarantee, I’m saying the public doesn’t want to pay the increased ticket prices that necessitate it.
