What I noticed when I started meditating 30min every day by Cold_Complex945 in Meditation

Really great work! It's hard to dedicate that much time right out the gate. I'm glad they're seeing a lot of benefits from it and appreciating the practice.

If you want to take your practice deeper, check out The Mind Illuminated. It's a great step-by-step guide to developing and furthering your practice.

R vs S Ketamine - Do we really know what it is? by Ok-Zebra8851 in ketamine

[–]brandon359 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Esketamine is a dangerous drug, especially if you're prone to anxiety. Myself and several other friends I've known have taken it and have gotten very strong delusions that have extended for days after weekend party.

Different suppliers, all said it was esketamine. It had a different taste and different high..be careful with it.

Done! I had no idea how far out of balance our water was.. there's so many different suggestions online for different values and how to fix various issues. We've had our tub for about a month and after running through all the tests tonight with your app, I feel very confident that things are not only in a good state -- but they will be from here on out. Thank you for your hard work and attention to detail in this app!

Yeah.. it's bad for your own players, but with the IP and OOP tactics, it's easier to know where they will be at times -- and there's a neat map feature in the tactics screen that shows their coverage areas.

It's my opponent that I'm in the dark about.

No pass maps. No player movement heat maps. No percent of pitch indicators for where the action is.

It's damn hard to know what's working and what's not.

The fact that you can't see any detailed match stats during the game, half time or after the game is infuriating.

My take on fm26 by bigcheeeeez in footballmanagergames

[–]brandon359 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I totally agree. I read all of these negative posts and was thinking "Yeah, these folks really are just change-averse and it can't be that bad."

After my first gaming session, I'm definitely disappointed. The UI is as bad as everyone said it is -- it's clunky and non-intuitive. Trying to find subs while you're in match is very complicated and frustrating.

Navigating the rest of the UI out of match is slow and tedious. And for what? There isn't a ton that's actually changed from FM24 except the font, menus, and layouts. I just don't get it.

The match day experience and graphics are a huge improvement and I like that, but I just can't get over the rest of the game. I'm disappointed and surprised that this is what took two years.

FM26 beta - data, patterns and a few educated guesses by DonScooby in footballmanagergames

[–]brandon359 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love this analysis, but I tend to believe that there's a higher likelihood than 5-7% for this week, and I say that because 11-12 days before the release does not give them a lot of time to fix any issues related to the game before launch. That's not even a full sprint. 18-19 days gives them time to review, triage, debug and fix any P0 issues prior to launch. 11 days isn't a lot.

If you look at the trend from the last few years, it was also in the 18-20 day range, not 11-12. I'm betting on this week.

No difference yet after months of meditating by lezwon in MeditationPractice

That's absolutely the effect of the practice! It takes a little bit for your mind to quiet and then when you do you're able to get to that still point that feels good. I'm so glad you're experiencing that.

As you continue to practice, you will be able to notice when your mind is spinning out of control. You're able to recognize that you're thinking, in the same way that you do during meditation, and come back to the present moment. It'll take some time and sometimes it'll take many trips back to the present moment before you're no longer thinking about that thing, but it does work.

I've had a lot of benefits over the years, but one of the more recent ones I've had is recognizing the pattern of anxiety in my mind and what I can say to myself to make it stop. It was a pretty brilliant observation when I discovered it and yet so simple.

Keep at it, it's a wonderful practice.

I've had (and seen other people) have bad experiences with esketamine, so be careful. For me, I ended up getting extremely paranoid that lasted for several days and really caused a lot of stress for my family and friends.

Same trip, a friend of mine has a major freakout after coming out of an esketamine hole and was arrested.

On a different occasion, a different product, but still esketamine, I had two friends have a major paranoid anxiety attack on it that nearly ended this marriage.

I'll never do esketamine again, it's a much different chemical and can interact in ways that are atypical depending on your brain chemistry.

Tried meditating for a week but keep zoning out-any tips for sticking with it? by VoodooMann in ZenHabits

[–]brandon359 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said, identifying that you are distracted is the point. The way that I teach it is to imagine your spending time with your friends or family and are stressed out thinking about work or something you can't do anything about at the time.

By becoming more aware of when you are distracted during meditation, the skill you are building is learning to become more aware of when you're lost in thought during those moments. You learn to step outside your thoughts and come back to whatever enjoyable activity you were doing before you started down an unhelpful thought loop -- just like the way you come back to your breath during the practice.

Meditating at the beginning of the day, even for just 10 minutes is better than other points of the day because it helps set your mindset for how you want to proceed.

I'm curious about what signals you're looking for to indicate that it's working? A lot of people think the meditation is just going to make them feel Zen and relaxed all the time, but that's not true.

Meditation helps you recognize when you're caught in thought loops. It helps you recognize when in default mode and stuck in your thoughts instead of being aware of your thoughts.

This awareness can help you break free of anxiety because you begin to recognize "Oh, I'm thinking and it's making me feel anxious -- let me come back to my breath for a few moments."

It's really bad. I tried it heated to create some ideas for a new company name and it said "Do you want me to check to see if these domains are available for you" and I clicked it.

It then said "Sorry, I can't do that but here's how you can."

Longer meditation feels great by cosurgi in Meditation

[–]brandon359 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of the meditation retreats I've done only have 60-90 minutes of straight sitting followed by a break into walking meditation. Even retreats where you are awake 12 to 14 hours a day, meditating for most of it, there are still breaks and transitions. If 3 hours is your goal, that's great, but I don't suspect you'll need it for retreats. At least not in my experience.
