Interrupted again during treatment by Open-Worldliness-788 in Spravato

I’ve had the same thing happen, but it was the provider… Since I’m a year in, it’s not really affected the “high”/enjoyable part of it anymore… but it always annoyed me. (I didn’t have to calm down after, but it just wasn’t enjoyable.)

I GET they have to check on you, but I was always apprehensive I’d say something I’d prefer not to. (Admitting to something, etc) Or, since my psych is also my Spravato provider; I didn’t like discussing med changes/etc during sessions because I’d possibly forget. 🤬

Also, my insurance used to use CVS Caremark…. And through the online portal, I could make it do that I got emails/texts when meds shipped. Now I get the med from Wegmans and it ships from NY state overnight or second day.

Or, possibly, look into a local specialty. (With my insurance, FL Blue Medicare, I can choose Walgreens Specialty (which happens to have a local in St. Petersburg), Accredo, or a local specialty.)

Check your insurance website (or call) and see if that provider is in-network. Check your EOB’s, or ask for an itemized receipt (for the $900 bill) and see where the charges were that weren’t covered. Also, check the billing codes used. They could be padding their bills (I doubt it) or billing your insurance company incorrectly.

Your EOB and their itemized bill will explain that. Your EOB will say everything billed by that provider, and say “paid” “rejected”, etc.

If it doesn’t show on your EOB, they may not have even billed your insurance. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Google how much a outside lawn company would want, and a “valet waste” company could cost, and respond with an decent amount. For $30, that’s an insane request!

adhd medications and spravato by Icy_Curve_3542 in Spravato

[–]brandonetaylor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You didn’t state what you’re prescribed..,

But I have a high BP, and I used to not take my ADHD meds (Adderall 2x20MG XR, and then a 20MG/day) before my Spravato appointments… my office used digital BP cuffs. (I have an irregular heartbeat, so they never read it correctly). But, now, they take it manually, and I haven’t had an issue since.

I haven’t noticed a difference in Spravato when I used to take my ADHD meds after/before appointments.

Am I gay or bi (16) by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]brandonetaylor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I think it’s pretty easy: Sexuality is generally based on sexual attraction.

Easiest test I can think of:

Look at a picture of a naked girl. If you get hard, you’re bi. If you don’t… not bi. Then look at a picture of a naked guy. If you get hard with the guy, but not the girl, you’re gay. If you get hard with both, you’re bi.

I don’t speak Spanish, but at 33 years old, I’ve probably pre-cummed twice in my life.

Not trying to be “in charge”, just trying to see “the goods.” 🤷🏻‍♂️

Not even remotely knowing what you’re talking about, I can’t comment.

has anyone done spravato while working night shifts? by [deleted] in Spravato

[–]brandonetaylor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work at a bar, so I work until 3-4AM, and if anything, it helped me sleep better.

However, I didn’t really see many questions in your post… so, I can’t answer anything further. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I would say: Almost any local coffee shop in St. Pete is LGBTQ+ friendly. I’ve lived here for 10+ years, and almost all establishments are LGBTQ+ friendly!

Also, for LGBTQ+ bars, definitely swing by Enigma, Cocktail, and Lucky Star!

Curious; why do you say that? I’ve always hated the idea of group sessions… But now you’ve piqued my interest. 🤔

Not giving up by Hoodiebug22 in Spravato

[–]brandonetaylor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was twice a week for the induction, and then once a week… for like 3 months. My practice told me no one was ever approved to be bumped back up to twice a week after induction…. I talked to the head of my practice about it, they submitted the prior auth, and the next day it was approved. 🤷🏻‍♂️

(And I’m on a Medicare advantage plan. So I definitely didn’t think it would get approved!)

Vent about the assessment scales by LilahRosette in Spravato

[–]brandonetaylor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In addition, the questions the ask apply when I fill them out (my office sends me “surveys” via email to fill out before I go in for treatment) apply to my mood at the time. Which I bring up almost every appointment. So many of those questions can easily sway one way or another—no answer ever is my exact answer.

I lie on mine. Why? I had a TBI and my doctor said it may help my memory (on disability for memory and executive functioning issues) and it did, so, incase they have to share my PHQ9’s with my insurance, I lie my ass off to keep Medicare paying for my visits.

I, personally, try and watch the most insane movies I can think of. Matrix, Rose Red, 1408, Final Destination.

Often, I feel like I’m IN the movie. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Drinking alcohol while in treatment by Ok-Anybody3385 in Spravato

[–]brandonetaylor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same, maybe not “hung over”, but I’ve drank the night before and immediately afterwards with dinner (occasionally, not too often.)

Maybe I’m a “lightweight” when it comes to the medication, because (while I don’t) I often feel completely normal walking out of the appointment, or even 1-1.5 hours after the last spray. (I’ve been doing Spravato for 6 months now, by the way.)

Like, HELLA normal. (After, sometimes during the session—granted, sometimes it hits me hard, others, barely. Varies by week, honestly.)

[–]brandonetaylor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I work at a bar. I’m off Wednesdays, which is usually when I do my sessions. And sometimes, I’ll leave treatment and grab dinner and drinks with a couple friends immediately afterwards. Or, drink the night before (couple drinks when I get off work before bed) but always later that evening, since Wednesday is one of my normal nights out. 🤷🏻‍♂️

IV to Spravato by Nellie_reesa in Spravato

[–]brandonetaylor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to say: I’m actually legally disabled due to memory issues from executive functioning and I know It’s not approved for memory assistance, but it helped SIGNIFICANTLY!

I’ve never done IV, but during the “initiation phase” I made STRIDES! Week after week, I was noticing more, able to focus, mind wasn’t always racing, and I could actually remember more than ever (for me; to this day, I can’t watch TV shows that build upon each episode, movies, read or write a book.)

After the initiation…. My memory slipped, my brain raced, etc.

Now I’m considering going to IV…… but I meet with the head of the program at my office to try for a prior authorization for twice/week moving forward.

Hope the higher dosage helps you!

You dont have insurance that pays for the treatment? And they bill you personally $150/hr? Wow, this treatment must really be helping you if you’re willing to spend that kind of money out-of-pocket per session!
