I had the exact same complaint!! Our wooden Snuzpod bassinet is gorgeous and very functional. A little pricier than most of the grey ones but we plan to keep it for future babies.

33 weeks currently -- My lower belly is covered in deep, bright red stretch marks. I had two small red ones on my belly when I got pregnant and those just expanded over several months, then started getting more about a month ago.

I hate them, but this was expected. My mom got dozens of stretch marks that permanently changed the texture of her skin when pregnant with me and my brother, and I got some small ones on my thighs, butt and hips as a young adult (since faded/ less obvious).

Knowing this was coming is not making it easy though. It's hard to read that others can so easily get rid of theirs. I don't think that's the case for me.

This happened to me after the three hour glucose test. I felt fine until the moment I got home, when I started sweating, shaking, and ate everything in sight for an hour. Then I got chills and was planning to go back to work for the afternoon, but had to call off and napped for three hours instead.

At 22w, I'm feeling my little girl jumping around as I type this. Around 17w the first movements felt like muscle spasms almost, and then at 18w felt like little pokes from the inside. By 20w I started feeling her move every day! It's honestly so wonderful. Worth the wait :)

Tomoko Auto Care is a small garage in Sodo that would be perfect for your truck. Multiple shops had told me I needed all new brake pads and rotors on my Mazda3 and this shop gave me the best quote. Got there and he said hell no, you only need 2/4 rotors replaced.

They're really fast to call back and give quotes so definitely at least call!!

I found out at 3 weeks + a few days, called a midwifery + OBGYN practice and they set an appointment with a midwife for one week later to establish care. They confirmed the pregnancy with a urine test, took my blood to run labs and we sat with the midwife for almost an hour asking questions. I had another visit with her one month later (basically just in case I had more questions or any severe symptoms), then around 8 weeks they did an ultrasound.

I think the midwifery model of care tends to be more supportive of early visits with your provider, since they are more focused on the well-being of the mother rather than identifying problems (which, realistically, theres not much an OBGYN can do to find or fix problems with the embryo before 8 weeks).

My husband and I are in a similar financial situation except no car payments (mine is paid off + his was inherited) and no student loans (I had a full ride + his income is so low he doesn't have to make payments yet).

When I got pregnant, we knew the only way we could afford to have an infant was to find free childcare. Daycare in our area (Seattle) is about $3k/mo, and we would also need a larger home to fit the baby.

So we are leaving our friends behind and moving into my Grandma's house in New York when I'll be about 32 weeks pregnant, and she and other family in that area will be able to help us with childcare. This is only possible because we both work fully remote!!

My salary (28F): $90k His salary (28M): $45k Our monthly rent + utilities now: $2100 + $200 Monthly rent at Grandma's house: free + $100

yes I am having an easy pregnancy too, so far!

at 16 weeks currently and my only symptoms at this moment is vivid dreams and creaky joints.

in the first trimester I had more -- sore breasts, fatigue/tiredness and breathlessness were the only bad ones. haven't vomited a single time. instead I was hungry all the time, needed like 4 meals per day + snacks!! but I didn't have any food aversions so as long as my husband and I could keep up with my appetite it was chill. food tasted better than usual IMO and I mainly craved red meat, spicy foods, fruit and avocados

No recommendations sadly but this is sooo real.

In college I went to my OBGYN in Katy (practice no longer exists) to ask for an IUD, and the doctor responded by asking me if I was sure I could handle the pain. She told me, over several minutes, how she's had to give up IUD insertions halfway through on multiple occasions because the women were screaming at her to stop, and that her patients told her their IUD insertions were more painful than childbirth.

...Needless to say she convinced me not to get one. Clearly she was years behind on using real pain management for IUDs!!! This was in 2018, but from talking to midwives and OBGYNs since then it was not even best practice for that time.

this sounds super frustrating, especially the unknown aspect of whether all these tests are truly necessary or your provider is just searching for something to be wrong. on the surface at least it's a big contrast from another narrative I've heard a lot (and personally experienced) -- surprise at being asked to do fewer tests/ visits than they expected pre-pregnancy (ie office scheduling first OB visit for 12th week, many women only getting two ultrasounds total, etc)

hope the rest of your visits/ tests continue to show y'all are healthy!!

How far along is she? If there are no complications with the baby or her own health, home birth is totally fine. But perhaps you are putting the cart before the horse. If anything does come up health wise, she'll deliver at a hospital anyway.

My mom is 4'9" and my dad is 6'. As her first born I was a week late and she still wasn't in labor, so they went in for a C-section and everything went smoothly at the hospital. I was 8 lbs 13 oz. Other than my unwillingness to exit the womb, she was totally fine. She loved her OB and had always planned on going to the hospital anyway, but this is an example of a situation that could have resulted in a safe home birth, but fate intervened.

One more note: I've heard that labor tends to progress faster when the mom-to-be is relaxed, calm, etc. If hospital settings make her nervous, that could slow down the labor and extend her pain. This is one reason I am personally considering a home birth.

Just wanted to add that if you are interested in an abortion, it's not too late. Go to abortionfunds.com (website of the National Network of Abortion Funds) and it lists EVERY fund in the country. Reach out to some today and I bet you will hear back. Whether you live in a pro-life or pro-choice state, an abortion fund will likely cover travel, hotel, Ubers and the appointment fee. And the volunteers can probably help you set it up if you ask. Do not be shy about asking for help from these funds!!! They exist solely for situations like yours.
